The Telangana State Anti-Narcotic Bureau (Tsnab) has directed the makers of upcoming Telugu movie ‘Ganja Shankar’ to change its title by omitting Ganja (cannabis) from it. With regard to the film’s title and the trailer uploaded on YouTube, Tsnab has told actor Sai Dharam Tej, producer and director of the film that if any objectionable scenes in connection with Ganja/narcotics and psychotropic substances are included, legal action will be initiated against them under Ndps Act.

Tsnab Director Sandeep Shandilya issued notices to actor Dharam Tej, who plays the main character in the movie, producer S. Nagavamshi and director Sampath Nandi.

Tsnab believes that the film’s title and the scenes included in the trailer seem to be glorifying drug consumption and sales, thus potentially violating Ndps Act.

The Fire and Rescue Services team reportedly doused the fire before it could spread further and cause more damage. No injuries or casualties have been reported in the incident, which took place late in the night on Sunday, May 28. The reason for the fire and the extent of loss incurred, however, are yet to be ascertained. It is learnt that the Dundigal police have filed a case and launched an investigation. Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan is collaborating with Sai Dharam Tej for an upcoming film, tentatively titled Pksdt, a combination of the initials of their names. The film’s title and first look will be finally revealed on Thursday, May 18.

The official handle of Zee Studios South confirmed the title reveal date along with the release date of the remake.

It said: “The ‘Time’ has come. All your thirst will be quenched #Pksdt Title & First Look tomorrow at 4:14Pm. Stay tuned.” The film is slated for release on July 28.

The Telugu movie ‘Virupaksha’, which stars Sai Dharam Tej and Samyukta Menon, is set to have a theatrical release in Hindi circuits on Friday, May 5.

Looking at the positive response to the film in the Telugu-speaking states, the makers have decided to roll out the Hindi version as well.

Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, ‘Virpaksha’ is a mystery horror film. ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ helmer Sukumar, who is now busy with the production of the Allu Arjun-starrer sequel, has penned the film’s screenplay.

‘Virupaksha’ collected close to Rs 70 crore in the Telugu-speaking states. It collected Rs 62.5 crore in its first seven days, according to trade expert Ramesh Bala. The film has been produced by Bvsn Prasad and Manish Shah.

The Telugu film had its theatrical release on April 21. The digital and satellite rights of the film have been acquired by Netflix and Star Maa, respectively.

Man of masses Ntr Jr. has lent his roaring voice to the title glimpse of Sai Dharam Tej’s (Sdt) 15th film. The title of the much-awaited mystical thriller was revealed Wednesday as ‘Virupaksha’. The teaser, released in five languages, has Ntr Jr. introducing the world of Virupaksha and Sdt’s character in Telugu.

The Rrr actor set the tone of the intriguing new film and raises excitement with his distinct and commanding voice.
