His literary career began with the success of his memoir, The Butterfly Garden - the story of how Lisa helped him overcome unbelievable odds - which earned him a nomination for the Michigan Notable Book Award and recognition as a featured author at the BookExpo America in Los Angeles. His advocacy has touched the lives of thousands of traumatized youth through the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation, which he co-founded with Lisa. The foundation empowers young people through expressive arts programming, helping them heal from trauma and build a brighter future.
A passionate advocate for child protection and mental health, Chip was honored with a US Congressional Record for Ardent Child Advocacy, recognizing his profound impact on trauma recovery and youth empowerment. He serves as a board member of an international mental health services organization and regularly delivers motivational keynotes and leadership insights to C-level executives, governmental agencies, and professionals across industries. He also guest teaches creative writing at risk-prone middle and high schools, where he inspires students to find their voices through storytelling.
Alongside his professional accomplishments, Chip enjoys a creative partnership with his wife, Lisa, under Kaleidoscope Entertainment, where they collaborate on a wide range of writing and film projects. Together, they are paving new avenues in YA literature, screenwriting, and impactful content creation.
