Melinda Neyman was born and raised in the small town of Kittanning,
Pennsylvania. Melinda comes from a line of musically talented
relatives. Her Grandfather, Delbert Dodd, was an extraordinary pianist
and vocalist. In his later years, he performed primarily at his church
along with Melinda's grandmother, uncle, and mother. Her parents, Lisa
and Scott, raised her in a Lutheran church environment where she grew
up regularly attending Sunday school, Bible school, church camp, and
youth group events. Church is where Melinda first explored her passion
for acting as she performed in many pageants and plays, along with
being a member of the bell and vocal choirs. Melinda's other interests
growing up were sports and dance. She began playing softball at the age
of seven and still plays in her church co-ed league. At the age of
seven, she also began taking dance lessons -tap, ballet and jazz- from
Ms. Rita and continued to do so until her high school graduation.
Total, she performed in 12 dance recitals and 12 ballets, landing the
lead role of Odette in Swan Lake at age 18. Throughout her education,
Melinda was consistently a distinguished honor roll student and largely
involved in many school clubs. She was a member of the Key Club,
section editor on the yearbook staff, a morning announcer, and a member
of the TV Production/Broadcasting class. Melinda attended Indiana
University and majored in Communications Media with a focus in Public
Relations. On top of attending higher education, Melinda has been
acting in several Independent films as well as doing some extra work,
commercials, short films and web series.
