Peyton Meyer has joined the cast of “Days of our Lives” in the newly created role of Doug Williams III, the grandson of the late Doug Williams (played by the late Bill Hayes). His first airdate is set for Tuesday, December 3.

Fans first got a glimpse of Meyer earlier this month when he appeared in the “Day of Days” sneak peek highlighting what’s to come on the daytime drama series this season.

In an interview with TV Insider, Meyer describes his character as a “mischievous” young man, similar to how the first Doug Williams was introduced in 1970. “He’s in and out of trouble. Peyton Meyer will make his soap debut on Days of Our Lives on December 3 as a new character, Doug Williams III, grandson of the late Doug Williams (Bill Hayes). Meyer, who began acting as a child, was living across the country when the opportunity to join the show came his way. “It’s a little bit of a crazy story,” he begins. “I lived for about 10 years in L.A. and then right around Covid time, I left L.A. and moved to Nashville and spent about two-and-a-half years there. I took some time off and then said, ‘I want to start acting again. I’m ready to get back in it.’ I booked a room in a house with some of my buddies. Four days after I had moved my stuff into that new house, I booked Days of our Lives, so it worked out perfectly; the timing was unbelievable.

Rachael Leigh Cook, the star of the 1999 film “She’s All That,” has joined the cast of Miramax’s gender-swapped remake, titled “He’s All That.”

Cook will portray the mother of Padgett Sawyer, the remake’s protagonist, played by TikTok star Addison Rae. In the 1999 original, Cook played Laney Boggs, the lovable art nerd who was made over by Freddie Prinze Jr.’s character, Zackary Siler.

“He’s All That” stars Rae in a role inspired by Zackary and “Cobra Kai” actor Tanner Buchanan as Cameron Kweller, the least popular boy in school. Reality TV star and socialite Kardashian broke the news of her film debut with an Instagram post on Tuesday that showed her looking at a script. She captioned the post with “studying @hesallthatmovie.”

The film’s Instagram account then reposted Kardashian’s photo with the caption: “Introducing Jessica Miles Torres.”

In the gender-swapped redo of the 1999 movie, Rae is playing Padgett Sawyer, who is inspired by Freddie Prinze Jr.’s character Zack Siler from the original. Per the new film’s account, Cobra Kai actor Buchanan will play Cameron Kweller.

Directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls), the update is written by R. Lee Fleming, who wrote She’s All That. Original producers Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay are also on board, and the film is being produced by Miramax.

ABC’s “American Housewife” and “American Idol” are airing a crossover episode in March, the network announced Tuesday at the Television Critics Association press tour.

The “American Housewife” episode, which is semi-confusingly titled “American Idol,” is set for Tuesday, March 19 at 8/7c. It will include guest spots from “Idol” judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest.

“American Housewife’s” “American Idol” follows Taylor’s (Meg Donnelly) dream of becoming a musical superstar, per ABC. Parents Katie (Katy Mixon) and Greg (Diedrich Bader) are skeptical when Taylor announces she will use her college fund to travel to Los Angeles, audition for “American Idol,” wow the judges and become an overnight sensation — but Taylor’s passion is undeniable.

In this exclusive clip from the highly anticipated “Girl Meets Ski Lodge” (above), Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) sit down in a different bay window and discuss their situation, which still seems impossible to resolve. You can't keep a good man down. In the wake of Mike & Molly's cancellation, star Billy Gardell is getting schooled. High-schooled, that is. The actor, who played Mike Biggs on CBS's cancelled Mike & Molly will appear in the second part of Girl Meets World's two-night season premiere, TV Line reports. His episode airs June 5, 2016 at 8:30pm Et, on Disney Channel. Part one of the third season premiere airs June 3rd.

According to the report, Gardell will play football coach Bobby Campagnola. The article also states Reginald VelJohnson (Family Matters' Carl Winslow) has been cast as a police officer in an upcoming episode of Girl Meets World. The Girl Meets World TV series cast includes Amir Mitchell-Townes, Peyton Meyer, Sabrina Carpenter, Cecilia Balagot, and Rowan Blanchard.

"Girl Meets World" will continue to grow up: The show has been renewed for a third season, and is moving to high school.

TheWrap reports that the "Boy Meets World" spinoff will begin production on season three starting in January, and the new episodes will start airing sometime early next year.

"[Creator] Michael Jacobs has one of the most authentic voices in television today," said Adam Bonnett, executive vice president of programming at Disney Channel, in a statement. "He and the entire 'Girl Meets World' team will not only continue to entertain families but also help kids discover who they are and who they want to be in this world."
