Marion Blount
- Actor
- Writer
- Art Department
Marion was born in Waycross, Ga. located 76 miles north of
Jacksonville, Fl. He moved to the Maryland-DC-Virginia area as late
teen. While working in telecommunication, he was transferred to
Atlanta, a co-worker asked if he would like to make some extra money
working as an extra on a television show. He started working as an extra
on an Aaron Spelling production, 'Savannah', which also opened up doors
in modeling.
Later, he moved back to the DC area and begin to model and take acting classes and workshops, and after seeing himself on the prompter, a spark was lit. But bills and rent had to be paid. So, now it's back to work and paying bills in the real world, so the acting thing had to wait. No such thing as a 'starving actor' for Marion or for that fact a starving anything. Compromising a lot of things, food was not one. If it's one thing that his parents taught him, it was to work and pay your bills....be responsible. It's hard to do that as an actor, unless you've "made it" or working regularly. He did make some time to find a few modeling gigs.
In 2009 he was in Tampa, he somehow ended up in the acting community. He heard extras were needed for a film to be entered the Tampa Action Film Challenge. He's always considered himself active and would enjoy being in a action film. So, put the two together. He met some awesome guys that were making a short film called "Unit 256", for the 2011 Action Film Challenge. A couple of days later he was also asked to be in another film for the same Action Film Challenge. The film was called "The Replacement Theory" (now on Youtube). "This film could've been a feature length or an episodic. I thought the story could've gone in so many places. "If they asked me to jump back into this project, i'd do it in a heartbeat. The creator Don Rua, was so cool and complimentary after he saw the film. He said "Skip, you were made for the big screen". "Didn't think that myself, because my confidence wasn't where it should be, however after building my resume, paying my dues, attending acting classes and getting my first agent, confidence level high or low, i was going full speed and fake it until i make it. That's what acting is all about anyway...(laughing)
