Sylvia Veith

Sylvia Veith was born Sylvia Davenport in Baltimore, Maryland. When she was three, her parents moved to Indialantic, Florida where her dad worked as a radar systems designer for the space program. She did her first play at the age of ten and has been acting, directing, and writing ever since. Sylvia earned a BFA in Theatre and an M.Ed. in English Education from the University of Florida. She taught both English and Theatre in Georgia Public Schools for 25 years. Her award winning play for youth, "Prom Night," is published by Theatrefolk and has been performed in the United States; Canada; the United Kingdom; Hong Kong; and Australia. Other plays by Sylvia Davenport-Veith are published by JAC Publishing. Sylvia is represented by the Jana VanDyke Agency, located in the Atlanta area. She is deeply involved with New Depot Players as an actress and director. In 2017, she was honored with the Clarence A. Vaughn Award for Theatre. She also edits and is a contributing writer at 12:53 Entertainment, owned by Towonda Kilpatrick and Raymond Rafferty. She was last seen on television as Gretchen Fitzgerald in "The Homicide Hunter, Episode #710."
