Staff Sgt. Fudge was born on 15 September 1982 in La Jolla, Calif., and was raised in San Diego. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in April 2003 and completed recruit training at MCRD San Diego. Following infantry training at the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, Calif., he attended the Basic Still Photography course at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Ft. George G. Meade, Md.
Following DINFOS, he was assigned to the Combat Visual Information Center at Quantico, Va., in January 2004 as a combat photographer. During this tour, Staff Sgt. Fudge supported high-level events, including President George W. Bush's inauguration; Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford's funeral processions; the Marine Corps Marathon; and produced multiple documentaries for Headquarters Marine Corps.
In January 2007, Staff Sgt. Fudge transferred to the 1st Marine Logistics Group (1st MLG) at Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he served as the Combat Camera NCOIC. While assigned to 1st MLG, Staff Sgt. Fudge deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While deployed, he conducted more than 50 combat missions while supporting the Marine Air-Ground Task Force, including Operations Defeat Al Qaeda I, OP DAN II and Operation Al Anbar Border Initiative. Upon his return, he reported to Syracuse, N.Y. to attend the Military Motion Media Program at Syracuse University.
The following year, Staff Sgt. Fudge was assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) where he served as the operations and production chief for Combat Camera. While assigned to 3rd MAW, he prepared Marines for deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, the 15th and 11th Marine Expeditionary Units and unit deployment programs. He also supported combined exercise Tafakula, exercise Pacific Horizon and San Francisco Fleet Week.
In April 2013, Staff Sgt. Fudge reported to U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, where he continues to serve as the VI documentation chief for Combat Camera, where, he plans and supports theater security cooperation exercises across the Pacific, to include exercises in Australia, Brunei, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand.
His education includes graduating Marine combat training in 2003, graduating with honors from the Basic Still Photography course in 2003, graduating with honors from the Video Production and Documentation course in 2005, the Intermediate Photojournalism Program in 2006, attending the Worldwide Military Photographers Workshop in 2007, honor graduate from the Military Motion Media Program at Syracuse University in 2010, and graduating the Visual Information Management course in 2014. He has also instructed multiple visual information workshops in California, Japan and the Philippines.
His personal awards include: The Navy and Marine Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Achievement Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, the Army Achievement Medal and the Good Conduct Medal with three bronze stars in lieu of fourth award. He has multiple visual communications awards in the Visual Information Awards Program, Thomas Jefferson Awards Program, Marine Corps Combat Correspondent Association Division, and National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors Government Programming Awards. Most notably, Marine Corps Combat Cameraman and Marine Corps Videographer of the year in 2016.
Staff Sergeant Fudge is married to U.S. Army Sergeant Tiffany Marie-Dusterhoft Fudge and has two children, Noah and Kaila.
