- Ellie was so determined to achieve her goal of becoming an actress/performer that she applied to Italia Conti and was offered a coveted place, aged 12, after auditioning. - Ellie attended stage school from the age of 9. She was cast in her first feature film aged 10, 'Frank' by Richard Heslop, a dark comedy set in Newcastle upon Tyne. A London Agent saw Ellie when the film was screened as part of the BIFA awards and contacted Ellie's Mum to ask if she could represent her. Ellie then auditioned successfully for Italia Conti while attending Spirit Young Performers Company in their Elite Team every Saturday and Sunday, and was cast in a horror film, Molly Crows, as well as building up her portfolio of leading roles in 8 short films, two of which were on the long short list for a BAFTA, and appeared in various stage performances. She has since played lead in three feature films, and has had featured roles in BBC's Call The Midwife, BBC's Casualty (in 2 episodes), BBC Doctors and ITV's Grantchester, as well as in two series of BBC Radio 4 plays with Greg Wise and John Sessions. Ellie wrote the script for a short film, Taciturn, when she was 15 and that went on to win various festival awards and was screened at Cannes, so she developed it into a feature film called 'Tell Me Why' while on her school commute by train aged 16.
