Tomas Simonsen was born in 1994 in Norway. He began his career at the age of 13 with his first feature film, entitled The Settlement. In 2011, Tomas worked on a Norwegian horror film entitled Dunderland. Later that year, he moved from Norway to Los Angeles alone at the age of 17. There he studied as a private student and completed high school. In 2012 he worked on an American thriller, The Employer. The feature film starred Malcolm McDowell, David Dastmalchian and Billy Zane. Later that year, he enrolled in the film program at the Los Angeles Film School. He completed 3 semesters in 2 years, graduated in February 2014 and was one of the best in his class. After that, he worked with film director Randal Kleiser known from the film Grease. In 2018 he was Second Unit Director on a British film entitled, Dark Corners. In 2021 he directed and produced the award winning film, The Crossing (Flukten fra Katterat), which deals with events in northern Norway during World War II.
