"Yellowstone" season 5 sets up the "6666" spin-off by moving the action to Texas on several occasions, giving viewers a taste of what the series might look like. While the Four Sixes' owner, Travis Wheatley (Taylor Sheridan), almost ruins "Yellowstone" season 5 with his self-absorbed strip poker antics, a show set on the ranch has some potential -- and two fan-favorite characters look set to be part of it.

It's highly likely that Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) will be a main fixture in the upcoming spin-off. He was sent to the Four Sixes in "Yellowstone" season 4 and has remained there ever since, even falling in love with a vet called Emily (Kathryn Kelly), who also seems like a safe bet to return for the spin-off. Since then, Jimmy's been a verbal punching bag for Sheridan's character, so viewers can look forward to more on-site bullying on "6666.

The stars of Yellowstone are stepping out for the new season’s premiere!

Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Kelsey Asbille, Cole Hauser, and Gil Birmingham posed for photos together on the black carpet at the season 5 part 2 premiere of their hit Paramount Network series on Thursday night (November 7) in New York City.

Yellowstone is reportedly losing its star. Kevin Costner will not return to the Paramount Network series if it's renewed for a sixth season. In addition, the cast has not returned to Montana to film the second half of season five, supposedly due to Costner's availability, and there's no scheduled start date yet.

This news comes only days after it was reported that Costner’s wife of 18 years, Christine Costner, had filed for divorce.

Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 8

Yellowstone season 5 can best, and favorably, be described as purposeful or deliberate. There have been a myriad of smaller character moments to build up an already impressive catalog of believable characters. There has been a spitoon filled to the brim with gobs of cowboy wisdom – reminding the show’s millions of viewers what the important things are in life according to co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan. Most importantly, in this entire time, it has naturally been building to something. Slowly building, but building none-the-less.

In short, Sheridan, this entire season, has been playing the long game.

Case in point, we once again begin this episode, “A Knife and No Coin” thirty years ago, as we rejoin the series of flashbacks of Young John (Josh Lucas). It has been mentioned time and time again that Lucas has done a tremendous job this season...

The latest teaser for the second part of the latest season shows John Dutton (Kevin Costner) whipping his ranchers into shape as tensions mount with son Jamie (Wes Bentley), daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly), and Kayce (Luke Grimes). The highly anticipated Yellowstone Season 5 premiere drew a cumulative 12.1 million viewers.

These numbers include simulcasts on CMT, TV Land, Pop, and Sunday-night encores.

The numbers showcase that interest in the Taylor Sheridan-created drama is not waning.

It's rare for a series to grow exponentially, but the word-of-mouth for the Kevin Costner drama continues to be off the charts.

Last month, the first two episodes launched in theaters as a special fan-focused event that sold out in many locations.

The Duttons have returned for a new season of family drama and political backstabbing, and it seems that there was quite an audience for the Yellowstone season 5 premiere.

Yellowstone has seen its ratings steadily rise over the last four seasons, and the first two episodes of the latest season have continued that trend. The Yellowstone season 5 premiere saw 8.8 million viewers on Paramount Network, which marks a 10 increase from the season 4 premiere. Across all four networks, Paramount Network, CMT, TVLand, and Pop, the premiere pulled in 10.3 million viewers, an 8 increase over last year’s 9.5 million. That number climbed to 12.1 million when the encore presentations were included. The premiere also shattered records in all demographics, each up by double digits. It’s safe to say that audiences are pretty pumped about Yellowstone.

The “Yellowstone” Season 5 premiere on Sunday night saw substantial gains in viewership over the show’s fourth season premiere last year.

The fifth season opener aired across Paramount Network, CMT, TV Land and Pop, with the same networks having aired the previous premiere as well. On Paramount Network alone, the show drew 8.8 million viewers compared to 8 million viewers for last year’s premiere, or a 10 increase. Across all four networks, it pulled in 10.3 million viewers compared to 9.5 million last year, or an 8 increase.

The Season 5 premiere was also rebroadcast on all four networks twice on Sunday night. When factoring in the encore airings, the total viewership rises to 12.1 million viewers, compared to 11.2 million the year before. It should be noted, however, that the Season 4 premiere was only given encore airings on Paramount Network, not on Pop, CMT, or TV Land.

Deadline reports that the Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren-led prequel limited series has been expanded to two seasons.

The series will comprise 16 total episodes, to be split across two seasons.

However, the outlet notes that negotiations are underway to bring the cast back to shoot an additional season.

It's hard to believe these negotiations not being successful. The Yellowstone universe is huge, but time will tell whether everything goes smoothly.

The cast will be busy. It's rare to hear names like Ford and Mirren attached to a TV series, but it's a testament to the success of Yellowstone.

Additionally, the outlet says that Sheridan is contemplating two separate limited series to be set in the 1940s and 1960s.

Gov. John Dutton, is that you?

In the newest trailer for season 5 of Yellowstone, Kevin Costner’s alter-ego puts his hand on the Bible and promises to uphold the Montana constitution against all enemies, especially those pesky domestic ones. That means John definitely followed through with a suggestion by Lynelle Perry (Wendy Moniz) last season to take over as the state’s governor.

His first move in office? He fires the old staff and hires Beth (Kelly Reilly) as his chief of staff before signing some mysterious declaration that Jamie (Wes Bentley) warns “is a declaration of war.”

“We’re already at war,” John replies ominously.

There’s also a new Dutton foe played by Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), who set her sights on destroying Beth, and a messy-haired vixen named Sarah (Dawn Olivieri) who likes to make a lot of money. Other new cast members include Kylie Rogers,...
