Glen Kirby was born on November 5, 1989, in the English town of Carshalton, Surrey. Kirby studied BA (Hons) Film at the Southampton Solent University, graduating in 2014.
Kirby made his start in the industry by founding the company Jack In The Box Films, now known as "West One Entertainment". Through his own company, Kirby wrote and directed his first full-length feature, "Off Piste", which was shot in the French Alps. The thriller received a great reception at the New York-based Chelsea Film Festival, gaining the best Actress award due to "Lara Lemon's outstanding performance".
The success of "Off Piste" resulted in Kirby getting to write/direct his 2nd film "The Pugilist". Produced by West One Entertainment with COO Jed Tune, the film reached success by being nominated for the prestigious Michael Powell Award at EIFF for Best British Feature Film, with an additional nomination at EIFF for Best Lead Actor.
Following the success of "The Pugilist", Director Michael Flatley tapped Kirby to helm the producing team for his debut feature film "Blackbird" for Dancelord Productions in 2022. The film stars Michael Flatley himself, Eric Roberts, Patrick Bergin and Ian Beattie. Garnered theatrical release in the UK & Ireland.
Kirby has since produced several award-winning short films, appearing at festivals such as Raindance, London Short Film Festival, Norwich Film Festival, Austin Micro Shorts and many more.
His latest work consists of three feature films in post production, two of which he Directed, 1 as Executive Producer. Caledonia, Water Over Blood and Suicide Kelly.
