Voltage Pictures has boarded worldwide sales, excluding Germany, on buzzy Milli Vanilli biopic Girl You Know It’s True from Leonine Studios and Wiedemann & Berg Film. The company began shopping the title at Berlin’s European Film Market after a footage showcase for buyers on Thursday.

The film follows the spectacular 1980s rise of the Grammy-winning German-French R&b duo, as well as their fall after it emerges that they lip-synch all of their songs. It wrapped production late last year and is expected to be ready for release near the end of 2023.

With production underway on its Milli Vanilli biopic Girl You Know It’s True, Leonine Studios has revealed the first-look photos for the pic produced by Wiedemann & Berg Film.

Newcomers Tijan Njie and Elan Ben Ali are set to portray the respective lead roles of Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan. Matthias Schweighöfer is starring as German music producer Frank Farian. The cast also includes Graham Rogers as Milli Vanilli’s U.S. assistant Todd and Bella Dayne as Milli, Farian’s right-hand woman.

Simon Verhoeven is directing the pic, with Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann producing. It marks another collaboration of the successful trio that has teamed on four No. 1 German box office hits. Kirstin Winkler is overseeing production as executive producer.

Six months after debuting its final season, Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method” has just revealed to Gold Derby the names of the 12 cast members who are eligible for the ensemble prize at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Two-time SAG Award winner Michael Douglas is joined by former nominees including Paul Reiser and Sarah Baker, plus new addition Kathleen Turner. See the alphabetical list below.

“The Kominsky Method” has a strong track record at the SAG Awards. Its first two seasons both earned three nominations for ensemble, Douglas and Alan Arkin. Arkin departed the series before the final installment, so he will not be eligible. Gold Derby anticipates the series is competitive to hold onto its other two nominations, though, with both the ensemble and Douglas in sixth place in our current combined odds.

Netflix released the trailer for the fourth and final season of “Atypical,” which will premiere on July 9.

The coming-of-age comedy follows Sam (Keir Gilchrist), a 19-year-old on the autism spectrum as he searches for love and independence. This season will see each character face a challenge they never anticipated as Sam sets his sights on a nearly impossible goal.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Rapaport, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Nik Dodani, Jenna Boyd, Amy Okuda, Graham Rogers, Fivel Stewart will return for the final season.

A new trailer, which was released Thursday, reveals that Norman has, in fact, died. The video begins at his funeral, as Robby (played by recurring guest star Haley Joel Osment) says a few words about his beloved grandfather.

Netflix has unveiled the season three trailer for The Kominsky Method, which teases a Norman Newlander-less final chapter.

Set to premiere on May 28, The Kominsky Method season three will no longer feature Sandy Kominsky’s (Michael Douglas) dear friend and agent Norman Newlander (Alan Arkin). Back in September, Deadline learned exclusively that the Oscar-winner would not return for the Netflix series’ third and final season.

Though the trailer doesn’t reveal anything specific about how Norman passed, it teases scenes of Sandy and his closest friends at the agent’s funeral. As some are in the dark about Arkin’s exit from the series, The Kominsky Method characters are left wondering about what led to Norman’s death.

“Scientology,” one character speculates in the trailer.

A new trailer for the six-episode final outing reveals that Douglas’s character Sandy Kominsky has been tasked with executing Norman’s (Arkin) will. It also reveals guest appearances by Morgan Freeman and Barry Levinson, playing versions of themselves as Sandy looks to reignite his acting career.

According to Netflix, his life “only becomes more with the arrival of Sandy’s ex-wife Roz Volander (Kathleen Turner).”

Also missing for the final season will be Alan Arkin's Norman Newlander character, the longtime friend and agent of actor and coach Sandy Kominsky (Michael Douglas). As previously reported, Alan Arkin will not be returning, meaning that Sandy Kominsky (Michael Douglas) will be flying solo during the six-episode final season.

Deadline stated that Arkin announced his departure ahead of the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning that it was already in the works before the world was ravaged.

The series will certainly feel different without him, but there's a good chance it will be addressed.

“Atypical” is coming to an end at Netflix, with the streamer renewing the half-hour series for a fourth and final season on Monday.

The new season will feature 10 episodes and will premiere in 2021. The third season debuted back in November, with the second and first seasons dropping in 2018 and 2017 respectively.

Netflix’s Peabody Award-nominated series “Atypical” has been renewed for a fourth and final season, the streaming giant announced Monday.

The new season will premiere in 2021 with 10 original episodes and returning stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Keir Gilchrist, Michael Rapaport, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Nik Dodani, Jenna Boyd, Amy Okuda, Graham Rogers and Fivel Stewart.

“I’m thrilled we’ll be doing a season four of ‘Atypical. And while I’m so sad to be nearing the end of this series, I am extremely grateful to have been able to tell this story,” the show’s creator, writer and executive producer Robia Rashid said in a statement.

“Ray Donovan” has been canceled after seven seasons at Showtime, the network announced Tuesday.

The drama, which starred Liev Schreiber as an elite Hollywood fixer, wrapped its seventh and now final season on Jan. 21.

“After seven incredible seasons, Ray Donovan has concluded its run on Showtime,” Showtime said in a statement. “We are proud that the series ended amid such strong viewership and on such a powerful note. Our deepest thanks go to Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight, showrunner David Hollander and the entire cast and crew, past and present, for their dedicated work.”

Showtime has canceled the drama series “Ray Donovan” after seven seasons.

The series starred Liev Schreiber as the title character, a fixer for the rich and famous at first in Los Angeles and later in New York. The news comes just weeks after the seventh season concluded on Jan. 19. The cliffhanger finale for Season 7 will now serve as the series finale. Along with Schreiber, the cast also included Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Pooch Hall, Steven Bauer, Jon Voight, and Graham Rogers. It was created by Ann Biderman and executive produced by David Hollander, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff, and Lou Fusaro.

Ray Donovan’s time fixing other people’s problems may be coming to a close as Showtime’s Gary Levine admits that the drama is “nearing the end of its run”.

Showtime’s Co-President of Entertainment Levine told Deadline that it is expected to make a decision on the future of the Liev Schreiber-fronted show “in the next few weeks” and hinted that it is set to return for an eighth and final season.

With Shameless being handed an eleventh and final season this morning, this means the ViacomCBS premium network’s top two dramas could find themselves with one further season each.

“I think Ray Donovan is nearing the end of its run. We always talked about seven or eight seasons. Nothing has been decided yet but it’s fair to say it is nearing the end,” Levine said.

Updated, 10:05 Am: Showtime said today that the Season 10 premiere of its signature comedy Shameless has been pushed back by one week to Sunday, November 10. No word yet from the premium cabler about why the change was made.

Previously, August 2: Showtime has set November premiere dates for the new seasons of two of its longest-running shows and the sophomore run of its Jim Carrey dramedy. Season 10 of the William H. Macy-led Shameless bows at 9 p.m. Sunday, November 3, followed by the Season 2 launch of Carrey’s Kidding at 10 (watch the new trailer below). Ray Donovan season 7 will stay in a New York frame of mind.

Ray Donovan is not the kind of guy you fire. More than a few of his friends have woken up to a dead body next to them, and even more than that count themselves lucky to wake up at all. Showtime knows this as Ray Donovan season 7 got the go-ahead, will according to Deadline.  

The series, which stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Liev Schreiber as Ray Donovan, saw its setting change from Los Angeles to New York state in season 6. Season 7 will remain in New York. 

Donovan moved to New York after his life was saved by a Staten Island cop named Mac, played by Domenick Lombardozzi. The former Boston mobster stayed for the pizza, and got friendly with media mogul Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon), who wants Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini) to be the next mayor.
