Aevitas Creative Management has formed ACM Kids & Illustration, a new division focused on representing children’s authors and illustrators across all genres, character design, cover work and adult editorial.
Agents across the company are expected to contribute clients to the new division, with senior agent Adriana Dominguez overseeing the unit along with Aevitas partner Rick Richter.
In a press release, Aevitas Co-CEO David Kuhn said the launch builds on the company’s “current strength in this important area within our company.” Co-CEO Todd Shuster noted that current clients have already produced a number of bestsellers in the categories to be encompassed by the new division. “Now seemed like the perfect time to highlight not only the astonishing talent we’ve been so fortunate to support over the years but also our quickly growing portfolio of new clients,” he added.
Aevitas has more than 30 agents based in New York, Boston, Washington D.

We’re starting a new series of posts here at SciFi Mafia that we’re calling Web Series Wednesday where we devote a space to the wonderment of the web series. Every Wednesday we’ll cover two awesome web series shows and give you all the info to get into them.
If you’ve got a favorite web series you’d like us to cover, head on over to the Contact Us page and shoot us your request.
This week we’re covering School of Thrones and Course of the Force.
Prom night is coming to Westeros High in the web series, School of Thrones, and the clicks are all vying for their right to the throne. The season consists of three episodes all well under 10 minutes. The bromance between Robb Stark and Theon Greyjoy is my favorite. The series starts out pretty fun and seems like it would have...

I'm writing this a little early due to the big eggball game, because I'm headed to a party tonight where people will actually be watching the game and not just the commercials. It's been a quiet day, but here's what's happening.
Ben Affleck picked up the Director's Guild Award for Argo, cementing his lead for Best Picture in the Oscars, despite not having been nominated for Best Director for the same film.
Meanwhile, Wreck-it Ralph dominated the Annie Awards, picking up Best Animated Feature, Best Director, plus screenplay, voice acting (go, Jane Lynch!) and music awards. Gay-inclusive ParaNorman picked up awards for character design.
Warm Bodies owned the box office with $20 million, destroying the other major new entry, Sylvester Stallone's Bullet To the Head, which only managed $4.5 million for the retro explosion fest.
Rutgers is preparing to open the Tyler Clementi Center, which will hold conferences and sponsor research...

Why have just one when you can have four! Former Annie Awards host and movie reviewer Leonard Maltin and voice actors Rob Paulsen & Maurice Lamarche will share hosting duties, along with a special appearance by long time Annies presenter-favorite, actor and animation industry professional Seth Green at this year’s 40th Annual Annie Awards set for Saturday, February 2 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Celebrating the best in animation, this annual black-tie evening will begin with a pre-reception at 5 p.m. followed by the Annie Awards ceremony at 7 p.m. and an after-party celebration immediately following the ceremony. All events will be held at Royce Hall. “We are very excited to have our hosts share in the 40th celebration of the Annies and know they will bring great energy and excitement to this year’s ceremony,’’ says Asifa-Hollywood President Frank Gladstone. Joined on stage by a lively mix of animation luminaries,...

Neil Patrick Harris will be returning to Adventure Time for another gender-swapped episode where he'll reprise his role as Prince Gumball, with Donald Glover joining as the male version of color vampire Marceline. If you're not watching this show, you're missing out. I don't know how they slip so much past Standards & Practices. Now if they'd just do a live-action gender-swapped episode.
We're also going to get a Powerpuff Girls movie from Cartoon network, complete with an original song sung by Ringo Starr, but sadly they're going with computer animation.
There's some movement for immigration reform in the Senate, but current plans haven't even discussed whether same-sex couples will be part of the solution.
Matt Morris is a talented out musician, but he's always made waves as a songwriter (he's the one who wrote Cher's upcoming "Woman's World"). He gets submissions all the time, and recently got one from Chris Brown.

Sometimes you have to defer to the experts. So when Debby Ryan — the 19-year-old star of Disney Channel’s Jessie (Fridays at 8:30/7:30c) — stopped by TVLine’s Times Square offices, I made sure to have my twin sons on hand to do the heavy lifting. Jared and Jacob wrote their own questions; I only sprinkled some in A) to make sure we covered all the bases, and B) because they don’t teach Follow-Up Questions until fifth grade.
Jared | Can you give us some information from the rest of Season 2 of Jessie?
Yes! Well, you know that Jessie and Tony are dating,...
