Cosmetics are one of the most important aspects of any multiplayer title these days. Overwatch 2 is also not an exception. However, it’s not like Blizzard has put that aspect at the top of the priority list all the time. In recent years, there have been just recolors of the previously released skins.

This tendency also looked more baseless amidst a situation where this highly popular hero shooter was rapidly losing players to none other than Marvel Rivals. But now, Blizzard might have thought about this issue and started releasing new skins, instead of just blatant recolored ones. But the question is, for how long?

Blizzard recently dropped a bunch of recolored skins despite Marvel Rivals‘s huge success with its extensive cosmetic line-ups.

George R.R. Martin is very expressive of his love for J.R.R. Tolkien’s books. The Lord of the Rings author was a great influence on him, and he would not take anyone who would boldly attempt to ruin epic fantasy before his eyes.

It’s understandable why many aspiring writers, or even the established ones, would want to follow in the footsteps of Tolkien. He’s a legend in the field, and his works are million-dollar successes. Because of the rise of these imitators, Martin feared he would become associated with them.

We all know comic book characters love to return from the dead. It's kind of their thing. There was that time Kamala Khan died as an Inhuman only to be revived as a Mutant later on, and we can't forget how Spidey is the protagonist of a story called The Eight Deaths of Spider-Man where — you guessed it — he has been biting the dust over and over again. Even characters whose deaths were permanent have found a way to make a comeback through time travel or alternate realities (looking at you Gwen Stacy). No matter what way we see it, no one is truly gone in Marvel comics.
So far, history has been a little bit different in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man, Black Widow, Quicksilver, Yondu, and Odin are all truly gone. However, that doesn't mean there haven't been a few exceptions here and there such as Phil Coulson or Loki.

Updated with the latest: The Sandman, based on the comics by Neil Gaiman, will end with its second season. This news came following allegations of misconduct and sexual assault against Gaiman, which has resulted in his other projects being paused or canceled. The decision to end the story with Season 2 was made before filming on the second installment began.
“‘The Sandman’ series has always been focused exclusively on Dream’s story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season,” showrunner Allan Heinberg wrote in a post shared on X. “We are extremely grateful to Netflix for bringing the team all back together and giving us the time and resources to make a faithful adaptation in a way that we hope will surprise and delight the comics’ loyal readers as well as fans of our show.

One of the most powerful beings in Marvel continuity, Galactus is the Devourer of Worlds - a cosmic force of destruction whose endless hunger forces him to drain the energy from populated planets. While Galactus appears human to humans, he has no 'true' form, and is actually an energy being channeled via a cosmic suit of armor made by his own hand. Despite that fact, even Galactus has relatives, with several godlike beings calling him 'brother' and even 'father.'
Born in the Sixth Cosmos (the sixth cycle of Marvel's multiverse), Galactus was originally a genius scientist known as Galan of Taa. Despite his godly transformation, some of Galan's humanity survives, meaning that not only does Galactus have family, he also has family connections.

Whether it be Marvel or any other comic publisher, death is frequently treated as an impermanent narrative device meant to compel the plot or characters forward. However, its impermanence threatens to steal the real meaning of death in a story. When a character or their loved one is gone, that’s supposed to be it. The trauma, grief, and sadness can motivate those around them to accomplish impossible feats.
As morbid as it sounds, fortunately, some Marvel characters never come back. Some have been gone for decades. When these characters departed the world of the living, each left behind a shock wave of impact, changing the lives and destinies of other Marvel characters forever. Their deaths mean something because they aren’t coming back. It can be hard and hurtful to see your favorite heroes and villains finally bite the dust, but their deaths often serve a greater storytelling purpose.

Any football fan, true crime aficionado or news junkie knows the story of Aaron Hernandez, the prodigiously gifted NFL star who was found guilty of murder and then hung himself in prison. Much less famous are two of his former teammates at Bristol Central High School in Connecticut, Nick Brutcher and Alex Ryng. Like Hernandez, they often led with their helmets, racking up hits and concussions on the field and leading increasingly troubled lives off of it. And, in a tragic defiance of statistical probability, they, too, committed murder. That...

Loki has spent most of his MCU career being a morally gray character, although the monumental conclusion to Loki season 2 raises the question of whether he's finally worthy of lifting Mjolnir. The clandestine enchantment placed by Odin has precluded most MCU characters from lifting Mjolnir, as exemplified by the scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron where most of the mostly virtuous Avengers struggled. Loki, meanwhile, has often found himself on the business end of Thor's legendary hammer during his time as a villain and as a general thorn in his brother's side.
Precisely what makes a character worthy of lifting Mjolnir has never been overtly expressed, though it's reasonable to draw conclusions based on those heroes who have managed so far. Traits shared by Thor, Captain America, Vision, and Jane, for example, suggest that worthiness is tied to selflessness, heroism, valor, and a willingness to sacrifice oneself for the greater good.

Idris Elba McConaughey Young Odin (Photo Credit – Instagram/Facebook)
So, here’s a fun throwback: Idris Elba once pitched Matthew McConaughey as the perfect young Odin for the MCU. Yep, Thor’s dad. Elba, who killed it as Heimdall in the Thor movies, was all in on the idea after working with McConaughey in The Dark Tower. He even said, “He could be Thor’s dad. Play a young version of him. Smash it.” Bold, right?
Now, if you’re thinking, McConaughey as Odin? Seriously?—same here. But let’s not forget, this was post-McConaissance. The man had left his rom-com era in the dust and was straight-up slaying in Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar, and True Detective. By then, McConaughey wasn’t just back in the A-list club—he was running the show. Marvel even tried to reel him in for Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

One MCU theory explores the moment that Thor unknowingly got his strongest power yet, and it answers many questions about his character. As an Asgardian, the God of Thunder’s unique set of skills has been an asset to the Avengers since he first joined the team in the 2012 film. Thor has since experienced plenty of change in his life, from his stint using Stormbreaker to the return and subsequent loss of Jane Foster. However, one of the biggest changes for the character may be in a power that he has already unknowingly acquired.
The Odin Force is the power used by the Kings of Asgard, most notably Thor’s father Odin. When the leader dies, it’s believed to be passed on to the next in line for the throne. Thor was inevitably going to become the ruler of Asgard and as a result, inherit the Odin Force. However,...

Tom Hiddleston's comments on Loki's motivations throughout his MCU arc raises questions about the God of Mischief's villainous nature. Tom Hiddleston's Loki is one of the first MCU villains and one of the characters with the most screentime. Across five MCU movie appearances and two seasons of his own Disney+ series, Loki's MCU journey went through many drastic changes. Loki was Thor and The Avengers' main antagonist, then Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok's secondary hero, Avengers: Infinity War's first major casualty, and finally Loki season 1 and season 2's heroic protagonist.
Both in the comics and in Norse mythology, Loki is a deity with no defined allegiances. Loki can torment Thor and the rest of his fellow gods (the Aesir) one day and help them stop a threat the next. The Norse Loki kicks off the events that lead to Ragnarok, but he's also the...

Anthony Hopkins Odin’s Role ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
Anthony Hopkins didn’t exactly have a godly time playing Odin in the Thor films. In fact, he flat-out called it “pointless.” The man who brought Hannibal Lecter to life and won Oscars for The Silence of the Lambs and The Father wasn’t exactly impressed by his Asgardian gig.
Hopkins graced the screen in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok. “They put me in armor; they shoved a beard on me. Sit on the throne, shout a bit,” he alluded, as if recounting a bad dream. And the cherry on top? “If you’re sitting in front of a green screen, it’s pointless acting it.” Whoa, burn. This is an actor known for sinking into his roles, and the green screen world of Marvel wasn’t exactly a fit.

Though renowned film critic Roger Ebert loved some superhero movies, there were a select few that he actually hated. Often considered one of the most influential movie critics of all time, Roger Ebert’s distinct voice and characteristic way of cutting through the jargon to deliver succinct and witty reviews of films saw him pass judgment on countless movies. Though Roger Ebert loved some superhero movies, there were other entries into the genre that he actually hated.
As Ebert passed away in 2013, he didn’t live to see the superhero fulfill its full potential as the dominant force in modern cinema, but he did witness the birth of the MCU and its pioneering of the genre. For all the comic book movies that Ebert considered great, there were others that he despised. On occasion, Roger Ebert was known to love terrible movies, but some superhero movies proved to be completely unenjoyable for the critic.

Loki, the God of Mischief, has been one of Marvel’s most interesting and complex characters, as he has razor-sharp wit and a multi-faceted persona that viewers adore. While the Twilight novels garnered lukewarm reviews among critics, this did little to hinder its sale, given its immense popularity among young adults. The first Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had some seemingly innocent moments that have gone on to become quite dark in the context of the longer series. Compared to other films in the MCU, Phase One was quite darker in tone, not yet touched by the sanitization of Marvel Studios under the Disney banner. Yet later films have managed to put a great many beats from the first five films into a more somber perspective, darkening the early franchise even more.
There are several ways later events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have put specific scenes from Phase One into a jarringly darker context. Sometimes, it's mere convenience that puts certain events into a darker perspective when compared to the later darkest moments of the MCU. More often than not, however, the series is very deliberate about the story beats it seeded early one, paying them off later with some heart-breaking revelations.

When compared to other hero shooters, Marvel Rivals is launching with a massive roster that compares to other titles years after launch. For context, Rivals has been released with an impressive thirty-three hero roster, up from the Playtest's twenty-three, which would have been more than big enough to launch most hero shooters. Compare this with Overwatch 1's launch roster of twenty-one heroes, and it is easy to see that Marvel Rivals is going big with practically every element. A roster of thirty-three is a far-cry from where hero shooters originally came from.
Team Fortress 2 is credited with being the first, big hero shooter that set the standard, while Overwatch is credited with making the genre mainstream, winning 2016 Goty at the Game Awards. Just when you thought the dust had settled on God of War Ragnarok’s Angrboda controversy, social media has found a way to reignite the flames. What started as a heated debate about character representation in 2021 has evolved into something far more contentious: a battle over who “owns” cultural mythology and historical narratives.

It’s a tale as old as gaming itself—the delicate dance between creative freedom and cultural authenticity. But this time, the discussion has taken an interesting turn, with some making bold claims about historical accuracy that would make even Odin raise an eyebrow.
And while God of War has always played fast and loose with mythology (Zeus probably never expected to be punched quite so many times), the latest round of debate touches on something deeper than just creative license.

Picture it: Chris Hemsworth, not Channing Tatum, leading the Joes. Wild, right? But the universe (or Odin?) had other plans. Back in the mid-2000s, Hemsworth wasn’t Hollywood royalty. He was an Aussie soap actor, hustling to make rent after leaving high school. His first break was on Home and Away, but even that paycheck wasn’t enough. “We had no money,” Hemsworth revealed to Variety. “I wanted to pay off [my parents’] house.” Talk about a hero’s origin story.
But chasing a Hollywood dream wasn’t all sunshine and surfboards. “I almost put too much pressure on myself,” he admitted. Auditions turned brutal. Callbacks vanished. “I had one right before Christmas, and things were not good. I thought, ‘Why did I do this?’” And just like that, G.I. Joe slipped through his fingers.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is filled with teases, cliffhangers, and post-credits scenes — some good, some bad. However, by this point there've been too many teases that remain unfulfilled, including cameos that have yet to be paid off and credits stingers that promised bigs things yet have so far amounted to nothing. Think of Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) declaring his intention to hunt down sorcerers in "Doctor Strange," Adrian Toomes aka Vulture (Michael Keaton) and Mac Gargan aka Scorpion (Michael Mando) meeting in prison in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," or basically the entire ending of "Eternals" (everything from the giant celestial sticking out of the ocean to Arishem promising to judge Earth and the hint at Kit Harington's Dane Whitman becoming the Black Knight).
Then there's "Thor: Love and Thunder," a terrible movie with bad visual effects that director Taika Waititi himself criticized (despite the poor working conditions the film's visual effects...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of complex characters that are only able to be brought to life thanks to the efforts of talented superstar actors. It's easy for cinema snobs to dismiss the character work of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as surface-level caricatures with no deeper complexity worth investigating. However, the most talented MCU actors have consistently disproven this notion with impressive character work that carries the appeal of the franchise with performances that certainly aren't easy.
There are a few MCU characters in particular that stand out for their complexity, requiring more demanding acting chops than the average movie role. Some are simply complex due to their shifting allegiances, character arcs, and troubled backstories, making for an emotionally weighty role to inhabit. Others would crumble under the support of less talented actors due to their alien, nonhuman nature or even multiple personalities, requiring a wide range of acting...

[This story contains spoilers from the season finale of American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez.]
For Stu Zicherman, the biggest challenge when setting out to make American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez was figuring out how to make their lead character “relatable, watchable, empathetic — and then trying to string that through the entire season,” she showrunner tells The Hollywood Reporter.
“That was always the focus in the writers room,” he says. “It’s like, ‘How can we be true to the story, be true to all the other characters [but] also find ways to Aaron’s humanity that feel like it’s cascading out of control?”
Now that the true-crime series from Ryan Muprhy has released its finale, Zicherman is able to offer his assessment of the 10-episode FX limited series. And he says that giving people reason to keep watching was key.

Here’s why Chris Hemsworth was almost fired by Marvel (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Picture this: you’re Chris Hemsworth and left out of Captain America: Civil War (2016) with no explanation. No big deal, right? Except Hemsworth thought he was getting fired by Marvel. “I was like, ‘What? Are we being fired?’” he admitted. The God of Thunder was Mia, while everyone else got their spotlight. Marvel wasn’t ditching him—they were just setting up something way better.
Instead of joining the Civil War drama, Thor got his movie Thor: Ragnarok (2017), which changed the game. This Thor was directed by Taika Waititi and was funny, bold, and way less severe than before. Hemsworth’s comedic timing? On fire. Result? One of the best MCU flicks ever.
Hemsworth nailed it, saying, “It turned out just perfect because we got to do a different kind of thing we wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.

[This story contains spoilers from the ninth episode of American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, “What’s Left Behind.”]
“What’s Left Behind” is an apt title for the ninth episode of FX limited series American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez. With Odin Lloyd’s murder tackled in episode eight, Hernandez (played by Josh Rivera) clearly reached the point of no return. Waving off the police who show up to his home in the night to ask him questions as they investigate Lloyd’s (played by J. Alex Brinson) murder is a very temporary fix. By the episode’s end, Hernandez’s fiancée, Shayanna “Shay” Jenkins, with whom he shared the home, is caught between her man and child’s father and her younger sister Shaneah Jenkins, who is literally grieving the loss of her partner, Odin, on the couch in that home.
Episode nine focuses squarely on Jenkins as her world begins to crumble after Hernandez is arrested...

Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains One Piece Manga Spoilers (Chapter 1130).
Right before going on a prolonged break, Eiichiro Oda dropped some of the most interesting One Piece chapters, probably because it gives fans a lot to think about. The last chapter revealed Loki’s character design in the series and key information about his Devil Fruit. Fans have been coming up with interesting theories to find out what Loki’s Devil Fruit could be like. Even though it has only been a few chapters since the arc began, Oda laid its foundation early in the story during the Little Garden Arc.

Since then, fans have been keeping track of the hints dropped along the way on what could unfold on Elbaf. The foreshadowing and hints are proving to be null as many theories suggest that Loki’s fruit could closely follow the legends of Norse Mythology.

After the ending of the chaotic and beloved Egghead arc, the One Piece manga brought fans to a destination they had been waiting for years to explore: the Kingdom of Elbaph. The Land of the Giants has been one of the series most unique and intriguing locations, with new characters who are equally mysterious.
Among these enigmatic new cast members, the manga introduced a new villain who could spell disaster for the Straw Hats and their friend, Loki. One of the first details revealed to readers about the Accursed Prince is that he murdered his father to obtain the powers of a yet-named legendary Devil Fruit. Still, the series might have already hinted at Lokis powers being related to a Norse Myth and a fearsome creature destined to initiate Ragnark and end the world in Nordic culture.

[This story contains spoilers from the eighth episode of American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, “Odin.”]
Filming Odin Lloyd’s murder in episode eight of the FX series American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez was particularly challenging for Josh Rivera who plays Aaron Hernandez, the one-time New England Patriots NFL star who was later convicted for the murder of Lloyd, and who died of an apparent suicide in prison. Taking the life of Lloyd, the boyfriend of Shaneah Jenkins, the sister of Hernandez’s fiancée Shayana, was personally devastating to the actor. Not only had Hernandez and Lloyd hung out a few times and, by most definitions, were friends, they were also potential in-laws.
“To have your life taken, something about that settled with me in a different way,” says Rivera of reenacting the heinous murder. “When you’re talking about true crime, there’s this barrier we put up that kind of separates ourselves from the reality of that, and something about shooting that...

Thor is the Richest Marvel Superhero? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Did you know Thor is secretly the wealthiest Marvel superhero? You heard that right—Thor’s wealth even dwarfs T’Challa’s legendary fortune. While everyone’s busy putting Black Panther on the top of those “richest superhero” lists, they’re forgetting something significant—Thor isn’t just a hammer-wielding hero; he’s a king with a cosmic treasure chest that would make even Iron Man jealous.
Let’s break it down: Thor is the ruler of Asgard, a place known as the Golden Realm for a reason. His inheritance includes vaults packed with treasure that Scrooge McDuck would want to dive right into. We’re talking piles of gold, magical artifacts, and weapons worth more than entire countries. And that’s just his “minor” vaults! Thor could settle the city as a whole’s land dispute by opening one of these treasure rooms,...

The One Piece fans are rampant with theories after Loki’s long-awaited revelation and the insane amount of information dumped on them after it. Loki is far from the goofy silhouette we saw back in the Whole Cake Island Arc. He looks downright violent and even happy about “bringing the end of the world.” The Prince has even killed his own father to get his Devil Fruit which must be of high value. However, many fans have noticed a curious detail: Loki’s eyes are taped shut.

Many theories surround the Devil Fruit in his possession and base their theories mainly on Norse Mythology. This time, it’s about the Goddess Hel, Loki’s daughter. While most people might recognize the MCU version, Hela, who was Odin’s daughter, the lore of Hel is far more of a threat than Cate Blanchett.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is one of the less interesting characters to emerge from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On paper, he's interesting -- in that he is a superpowered Norse deity, yet he is beholden to the rules of honor and propriety practiced by the Asgardian aristocracy. He was built for battle, but he also must possess honor in order to wield his best-known weapon: a massive, lightning-powered hammer. The problem with Thor is that his powers, and indeed his character, are ill-defined. Although he is a literal Norse deity, several MCU films redefine him as a space alien (!) who merely imitates a god. He must "be worthy" to use his hammer, but it's never been defined what worthiness entails.
Also, for a god, his powers seem incredibly limited. One would think that if...

The galaxy's favorite slacker hero Peter Quill, aka the Legendary Star-Lord, just got a huge upgrade, as the Guardians of the Galaxy's longtime leader wields his own version of the Asgardian hammer Mjolnir. While Peter Quill is a lot more heroic than most fans think (the MCU skips his past as a self-sacrificing war hero), no-one has ever considered him someone who might be worthy of Mjolnir. However, in a dark possible timeline, Star-Lord wields his own enchanted hammer.
In Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing and Greg Land's Venom War: Spider-Man #3, Spider-Man experiences a potential future where he becomes the new King in Black. While Peter Parker is a hero through and through, even he is corrupted by the experience, becoming a tyrant who rules over all of space with an iron fist. In a climactic battle, the galaxy's remaining heroes join forces to bring him down, including...

In recent years, Marvel Studios has given much more attention to the mommy issues in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introducing several evil, morally-gray and problematic mothers. One of the best things about the heroes of the MCU is that they are as close to real people as they can be. They often have relatable backstories, believable motivations and raw, human emotions. Exploring these themes often makes family an important concept, with many heroes' family histories being detailed, which has allowed a wide variety of parents to debut in the MCU.
Unfortunately, the relationships between superheroes and their parents in the MCU aren't always strong, and some parents have even been introduced as villainous dark mirrors to their heroic children. While the focus of the Infinity Saga was evil fathers in the MCU, it's the mothers who have recently taken center-stage, contributing to a rise in mommy issues in the McU's Multiverse Saga.

With Twilight of the Gods unleashing Zack Snyder's Norse mythology retelling onto Netflix, his new animated series has garnered higher praise and a greater Rotten Tomatoes score than most of the Rebel Moon franchise. The animated series focuses on a half-giant who embarks on a brutal quest for vengeance against the Gods after her family are murdered on her wedding day. Twilight of the Gods features an all-star cast including Sylvia Hoeks, Stuart Martin, Rahul Kohli, Paterson Joseph, Pilou Asbaek, and John Noble as many of Norse mythology's most well-known figures, including Thor, Loki, and Odin.
While Twilight of the Gods has been a hit with audiences, its critical response has also led to a unique situation for the director on Rotten Tomatoes. With the mature animated series gathering an average score of 60%, the series has earned a more positive status than both the theatrical cuts of Rebel Moon:...

God of War Ragnarök might be the biggest game of the franchise. Released in 2022, this title is available for PlayStation 4 and 5 and on PC. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in its typical storyline of ancient Scandinavia, featuring Kratos and his teenage son Atreus.

The Norse mythology in the game has always been a point of interest for the fans, which features popular characters like Thor and Odin. We already have an idea of these Scandinavian medieval characters in other popular franchises like Marvel. So, an accurate interpretation of these characters would have backlashed the God of War franchise itself.

God of War Ragnarok was a massive triumph from Santa Monica Studio after it was released for the PlayStation 4 and 5 a few years ago. The game developers believed it was a game worth sharing to the PC platform and players on the said platform can now experience the Norse Saga fully with the best settings available for gaming. The Norse Saga was a major departure from what the fans were accustomed to in the Greek Saga and the developers revealed how the respective pantheons differ in design.
