Dave Barker is a Canadian actor, known for 1000: The Sword in the Stone (2020) My 90 Year Old Roommate (2018), Dhaliwal '15 (2015), The New Pornographers: Champions of Red Wine (2015), How Heavy This Hammer (2015) The Wooden Sky: Saturday Night (2014), We Run These Streets (2014), The Quest for Gold (2014). He has also appeared in leading and supporting roles in numerous dramatic TV series, including: Untouchable, Cold Blood, Motives and Murders, Forensic Factor, Nothing Personal, Murder in Paradise, and Outlaw Bikers.
Born in Toronto Ontario, Dave attended Humber College for Radio Broadcasting, Second City for Comedy Improv, and Spenard David Racing School for auto racing.
He began his career as a stage actor at Toronto's Colonnade Theatre, then worked in several radio stations as a writer, producer, and announcer. His radio career includes 17 years as Creative Director for Canada's biggest rock station, Q107 Toronto, where his many character voices were featured in hundreds of commercials, comedy bits, and parody songs.
Barker's list of radio awards includes "Best Writer, Canada" (Gold - Soundcraft Awards), "Creative Excellence" (Gold - Soundcraft Awards), "Humour" (Gold, Crystal Awards) ...and "Best Online Radio Format" (Gold - International Radio Festival of New York)
Perhaps the highlight of his radio career was a stint as writer-director-producer for the LA based Playmate Radio Team, a traveling radio show starring playmates from Playboy Magazine.
Between acting gigs, Dave Barker teaches voice training at the College of Sports Media.
