NBC's forthcoming streaming service, Peacock, is ramping up its development slate, despite the service not being fully revealed to the masses.
The network unveiled six additional series it has in the works, including a MacGruber TV series starring Will Forte, as well as a Laverne Cox-Norman Lear series titled Clean Slate.
They join the Queer as Folk reboot as programs under development. Neither of the shows has received series orders.
Here is the full list of new shows in the works.

Ahead of its formal debut Thursday, NBCUniversal has put six projects in development at Peacock, including a revival of Will Forte’s “MacGruber.”
Additional projects include a transgender themed drama executive produced by and starring Laverne Cox, a comedy based on the McElroy family’s “Dungeons & Dragons” podcast, and others from Amy Poehler and Mindy Kaling.
“MacGruber” will see Forte return as his “SNL” character, a spoof of “MacGyver.” The character appeared in a number sketches and starred in a 2010 movie alongside Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Val Kilmer and Maya Rudolph. The character was created by Jorma Taccone, a member of The Lonely Island musical comedy group that also featured “SNL” alum Andy Samberg.

Ahead of Comcast’s investor presentation today to officially unveil NBCUniversal’s upcoming streaming service Peacock, the platform has announced its inaugural development slate. It includes comedies MacGruber, starring and co-written by Will Forte; and Clean Slate, starring and co-written by Laverne Cox and George Wallace. Creative auspices on Peacock’s series in development also include Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Norman Lear and Lorne Michaels, among others. The projects come from within NBCUniversal Content Studios — from both Universal TV and Ucp — as well as from outside studios, Warner Bros. and Sony.
From the get-go, Peacock’s original series slate had a comedy bent, with sequels to sitcoms Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster among the platform’ first orders, along with pickups for A.P. Bio and Ed Helms-Mike Schur comedy Rutherford Falls.

Peacock is adding a bunch more feathers to its slate.
Only a couple hours before NBCUniversal unveils the new streaming service, Peacock has announced it is developing series with Amy Poehler and Mindy Kaling, among others.
The Poehler-produced project is titled “Division One” and is described as a coming-of-age comedy about an underdog women’s collegiate soccer team that gets a new female coach – a former professional soccer player who’s fallen from grace – and must decide whether or not they’re going to take the risk of trying to be great.
Maggie Carey, who is best known for directing episodes of shows such as “Barry,” “Silicon Valley” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” is writing, directing and executive producing the show, alongside Julia Brownwell who serves as a writing-executive producer. Poehler, who was recently announced as the co-host for next year’s Golden Globes, is exec producing via her Paper Kite banner,...

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is once again under fire this Oscar season after announcing February 11 the four categories that will be cut from airing during the live broadcast on ABC: Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Live Action Short, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The initiative was first announced last summer on the same day the Academy tried and failed to introduce the Best Popular Film Oscar, but outrage over the decision has hit a fever pitch now that the cut categories are confirmed. Guillermo del Toro, winner of Best Director and Best Picture for “The Shape of Water” last year, led the charge on social media.
“If I may: I would not presume to suggest what categories to cut during the Oscars show but – Cinematography and Editing are at the very heart of our craft,” del Toro wrote on Twitter. “They are not inherited from...

Jonathan Gold, the Los Angeles Times critic whose love of the obscure ethnic food shops of Los Angeles turned on a generation to tastes they may not have discovered, has died. He was 57 and passed from pancreatic cancer at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles tonight, according to his wife, Times arts and entertainment editor Laurie Ochoa. He was only diagnosed with the disease in early July, and his rapid demise shocked colleagues.
He was the first food critic to win the Pultizer Prize, taking home the honors in 2007. Gold pioneered reviews of the noodle shops, Thai restaurants and odd take-out restaurants that make up much of the sprawling Los Angeles food landscape. He delighted in places that offered menus that weren’t in English and proprietors eager to give him off-the-menu items.

Twitter’s new favorite person, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, found himself in a situation on Wednesday that played out as so many Twitter spats have before: Get criticized, get defended, joke around after with your friends.
Except this time the criticism was coming from the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. — who issued the snarky tweet just two days after his wife was hospitalized for opening an envelope containing a suspicious white powder.
And the jokes? They were coming from Hollywood’s Josh Charles and Mindy Kaling, among others. (Reese Witherspoon has already made her feelings about Rippon known.

How is your holiday going? I'm in North Carolina for reasons that are too complicated and unrelated to my usual life to explain. Where are you right now? As I sit here, still digesting the morning after, I'm thinking about awards season and how thrilled I always am when it arrives and how it's amusing that it fills so many people other people with dread.

27-year-old Chris Schleicher is a writer for The Mindy Project. Before launching his comedy career, though, Schleicher spent 16 years as a competitive figure skater — he and his pairs partner (a.k.a. his sister) were ranked 13th in the nation before Schleicher retired in his early 20s. (He actually got the Mindy job by writing a pilot about his skating days, which, naturally, was called On Thin Ice.)
In short, Schleicher knows more about figure skating than you do — and he’s also a lot funnier when riffing on the sport’s inherent ridiculosity. So please, before NBC airs the...

Football — it is a game. And one that many people watch. Gay people, allegedly, are some of these people. The More You Know.
Now that Seattle and Denver are headed to the Super Bowl on February 2, it’s probably time to learn something real about this sport. To help usher you (and me) into comprehensive football awareness, here are 10 tweets from gays who commented on yesterday’s big games. Or just said something about the games. Or seemed to know what football was.
1. Richard Lawson introduces you to the Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll.

2. Dave Holmes invites you to shake hands with Jim Harbaugh, the coach of the losing San Francisco 49ers.
Jim Harbaugh looks like the reverse of that Far Side cartoon where the lady's dog is in her butt.

So, Tom Daley has a boyfriend. That means two things: 1) He is subject to a grudge match against Matthew Mitcham for our eternal love; 2) The gay men of Twitter have been responding. It’s 2013, so I assume you’ve already acquainted yourself with the bad news: Internet commentary about TV is almost always better, or at least funnier, than TV itself. This was especially true in the case of last night’s Emmys, an unusually somber event given that it was supposed to be celebrating our current “golden age of television.” When weren’t we in a golden age of television again? 1997 or something? Please. Don’t tell me you didn’t love The Single Guy.
