Stephen Sawchuk is an award-winning Writer/Director/Producer based in Vancouver, British Columbia with a wealth of experience executing large-scale scripted & unscripted projects. Over the past 15 years, Stephen has produced well over 120 hours of film & television for networks and streamers including Apple TV, MGM, Hulu, The CW, Peacock, HGTV, E, Lifetime and many others. Stephen has had the pleasure of working with Academy Award-winning and Grammy-winning A-list talent, and has produced projects across the globe. Select credits include 'Sly Lives!' (Hulu, 2025), 'Brats' (Tribeca 2024 Official Selection, Hulu & Disney+), 'Sidney' (TIFF 2022 Official Selection, AppleTV+), 'Women Who Rock' (4 x 1 hour doc-series, MGM+ & Crave) and 'Love it or List it Vancouver' (75 x 1 hour lifestyle series, HGTV). His award-winning short film 'Hell is a Teenage Girl' has been sweeping the festival circuit, spawning the development of a feature-length adaptation. The short was an official selection of Fantasia International Film Festival 2024, winner of the Gold Remi for Best Horror at the 57th Annual Houston WorldFest, four-time nominee at the Mammoth International Film Festival 2024 (achievements in Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography and Acting), winner for Best Horror & Best Director at the 2024 Cannes Independent International Film Festival, winner for Best Actress at the 2024 Luxembourg Indie Film Festival, and an official selection of the Chicago Horror Film Festival, Atlanta Horror Film Festival and Vancouver Horror Show.
