- Grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
- Made his commercial NYC theatre debut in "The Irish Play", the last professional production directed by Theodore Mann.
- Graduated from Berkeley Carroll School and the prestigious Regis High School, where he was the president of the Hearn, their famed speech & debate team.
- Attended Loyola University in Maryland where he founded the Dionysia Theatre Company and directed its inaugural production of Israel Horovitz's "The Widow's Blind Date". He was also a member of the male a cappella group, The Chimes, with actor Eric Morris.
