Like most people – and I am basing this entirely on the box office – I am more of a Marvel person than DC. But I definitely am not loyal to either side. DC have produced plenty of great live-action movies but I was intrigued how they would fare with an animated adult movie.
Ending a fifteen movie story arc, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is DC’s Endgame as we see the Justice League regroup after the decimation of Earth and attempting to finally defeat Darkseid.

All of the marketing promises that Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, out today for digital streaming, is the final chapter of the DC Animated Movie Universe. Similar to Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame wrapping up a decade’s worth of stories, this too brings everything to a cosmic climax, the likes of which have not been attempted before. The largely successful effort clocks in at 90 minutes, making for the longest film yet in the 38 animated features from Warner Animation.
The film opens with John Constantine (Matt Ryan), now a full-fledged member of the League, in bed with Zatanna (Camilla Luddington), a moment of bliss before impending doom. The language and graphic violence definitely make this inappropriate for the youngest viewers so parents are forewarned.
Darkseid (Tony Todd) has been a looming threat and now, he launches his all-out assault on Earth. With the Titans left to defend Earth, Superman (Jerry O’Connell...

The Hush storyline by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, and Scott Williams was a smash sales success because it safely followed the Loeb formula of a 12-issue mystery that enveloped every major member of the rogues’ gallery. First, there was the Holiday killed and the making of Two-Face and here we have the new threat of Hush which connects to young Bruce Wayne’s childhood.
To fit this into the connected Animated Universe, Batman: Hush, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, a host of changes had to be made. The one that did not need alteration is the one that entirely spoils the final third of the 82-minute film.
I’ve not been fond of veteran animation writer Ernie Altbacker’s previous forays into the Dcau, but this contains some of his finest moments. Coupled with above-average source material and fine character designs, this is one of the stronger-looking films in a while.

When it comes to Batman: Hush, you could say I’ve waited years for it to be adapted to a movie – because I have. It goes without saying that every fan of the Caped Crusader who reads comics has a favorite storyline to call their own, and mine is the classic written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Jim Lee. Finally, the talented folks developing these DC animated films were given the green light to bring it to life.
If I had to say why I loved the comic so much, it’s probably because it was a riveting mystery that simultaneously functioned as an entry level story you could hand to anybody in order to school them on Batman’s world. Pretty much all of his top-tier supporting characters and villains were present, so it was kind of an encyclopedia with a narrative. Plus, it took the Batman-Catwoman romance to the next level,...

Warner Bros. has released a couple of new clips from their upcoming new DC animated film Batman: Hush. The first clip is called “Batman Vs. I’m a big fan of this Batman storyline which was originally written by Jeph Loeb with art by Jim Lee. I liked the first trailer that was released and there’s a good chance this will be a decent adaptation that fans will enjoy. Here’s the synopsis for those of you not familiar with the story:

Now that the likes of Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke and Under the Red Hood are out of the way, it’s long overdue that Batman: Hush be adapted as an animated film. Not only does the source material remain my favorite comic book story arc to feature the Caped Crusader, but it also serves as a perfect jumping on point because it includes so many essential characters.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer for it to arrive, as the flick will be made available digitally beginning on July 2oth, with 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack releases set to follow on August 13th. Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for their upcoming new DC animated film Batman: Hush. I love this Batman story and it’s great to see that it’s finally getting an animated film adaptation. It looks like it’ll be a pretty solid movie. I liked what I saw in this first trailer.
The original story was written by Jeph Loeb and it featured art by Jim Lee penciling, Scott Williams inking, and Alex Sinclair coloring. Here’s the synopsis for those of you not familiar:
Batman: Hush centers on a mysterious new villain known only as Hush, who uses a rogues’ gallery of villains to destroy Batman’s crime-fighting career as well as Bruce Wayne’s personal life, which has been further complicated by a relationship with Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
The film will be voiced by a slew of DC veterans as well as some new blood.

If you were to ask me which comic book movie I’m anticipating most in 2019, I’d have two answers for you. The obvious one is Joker because it’s being released theatrically in October, but overall, Batman: Hush takes the cake for me. It may be animated and direct-to-video, sure, but I’ve long waited for my favorite story featuring the Caped Crusader to be adapted to film.
Whetting the appetites of myself and those familiar with the source material is that of the first trailer promoting the flick, which can be viewed at the top of this article. To be honest, I’m quite proud of what I’m seeing. In reality, you can’t cram everything from a story which spanned twelve issues into one feature-length film, but the finer points are there.

Batman: Hush is finally receiving an animated adaptation in 2019.
The beloved Batman: Hush storyline from the comics is being adapted into an animated film by DC.
The original story, which was written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Jim Lee, follows a mysterious villain known only as Hush who seems intent on stalking Batman and ruining his life. Unfortunately for the Caped Crusader, it seems that all of the city's most notorious villains have picked this moment to go after the Dark Knight as well. To make matters worse, a series of incidents brings a lot of "old friends" back into Batman's life just as he is trying to explore whether or not he and Catwoman have a future together.
Hush is famous for its mysterious, noir-tinged story, some truly incredible moments in the Batman mythology, and for Lee's amazing artwork. Indeed, some consider Hush...

Condensing nearly eighty years of comics continuity, characters, and interpretations into other media allows for cherry-picking and revision to be done, so the resulting new work has the look and feel of the original while offering up something fresh, and hopefully, good.
One of the best-regarded storylines in DC’s history is “The Judas Contract” which was the culmination of a two year thread in New Teen Titans because no one saw the twists and turns in the storyline while it also dramatically shifted Dick Grayson’s status quo. It also provided readers with the origin of the Tiran’s great foe, Deathstroke. The ending was emotional and strong while the entire story holds up on rereading.
What is offered up in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract animated feature, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, is a pale comparison for a number of reasons. First, the lineup of characters is...

Fans of DC animation have much reason to rejoice as the latest entry into the ever expanding library is upon us with the release of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Loosely adapting the beloved comic book storyline written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, this film had a sordid past, to say the least. After first being slated for release back in 2008, it was cancelled only to be thankfully resurrected, but now it’ll have a bit more of a New 52 flavor to it.

If anything, 2017 is going to have quite the steady stream of DC animated films, with the next one up being Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Loosely adapting the classic storyline of the same name written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, it’ll see some of the most beloved young heroes in all of comics face their biggest challenges yet, namely Brother Blood and Deathstroke.
While many of us have to wait for a home video release to enjoy the movie, those fortunate enough to attend WonderCon in Anaheim, California in a few weeks will have the opportunity to attend the world premiere. You see, on Friday, March 31 at 6:00pm, a screening will take place in the Arena of the Anaheim Convention Center, complete with panel afterwards. Should you miss out on that, an encore will be shown on Sunday, April 2 (also in the Arena), but with no panel to follow.

The newly integrated DC Animated Universe expands with its latest offering, Batman: Bad Blood. While Batman (Jason O’Mara) can work best as a loner, he casts a long enough shadow that somehow involves others to take up the mantle of the Bat. We’ve seen Nightwing (Sean Maher), the former first Robin, and the addition of Bruce Wayne’s son Damian (Stuart Allan) as the new Robin has added an edge.
The new animated film, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, has been sold as the major introduction of Batwoman (Yvonne Strahovski) but we also get Batwing (Gaius Charles) and at the end a cameo from Batgirl. As a result, it’s actually beginning to feel a little too busy with so many players there’s not enough time to properly service them.
The premise here has Talia (Morena Baccarin) recruiting a bunch of disparate rogues to help her break Batman.

The announcement is now live on the WonderCon website.
"Justice League vs. Teen Titans" welcomes the Teen Titans to the ever-expanding canon of classic DC Comics characters within the DC Universe Original Movies. When Damian’s over-aggressive tendencies almost destroy a Justice League mission, he is sent to learn teamwork by training alongside the Teen Titans. However, adjusting Damian’s attitude turns out to be the least of the Teen Titans’ troubles as Raven’s satanic, world-conquering father Trigon begins an escape from his inter-dimensional prison. Watch Nightwing dressed up as Batman team up with Batwoman to battle off a horde of Nunjas (Ninja Nuns) in one of two new clips that have been released for DC Entertainment’s animated film Batman: Bad Blood. The scene features the two “[encountering] a fortress heavily guarded by well-armed nuns.” It’s pretty damn entertaining to watch them beat the living hell out of these nuns. The second clip shows Batwing, Batwoman, Nightwing, and Robin dropping in to take on the bad guys.
When Batman goes missing, it will take the entire Bat “family” – including new additions Batwoman and Batwing – to keep the peace in Gotham City and unravel the mystery behind the Dark Knight’s disappearance in Batman: Bad Blood.

Fans of the DC Universe direct-to-video animated movies should be thrilled to hear that the voice cast has been officially announced for 2016’s second release, Justice League vs. Teen Titans. Featuring a staggering amount of DC’s finest heroes from varying generations, we can only assume this movie will deliver much excitement and fan service.
The Teen Titans lineup itself will be composed of Robin/Damian Wayne (Stuart Allan), Nightwing (Sean Maher), Starfire (Kari Wahlgren), Blue Beetle (Jake T. Austin), Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo), Raven (Taissa Farmiga), and the most interesting addition, Cyborg (Shemar Moore). Sure, Cyborg is historically known to be in the Teen Titans, but has been aligned with the Justice League in various forms of media since 2011. So, it should definitely be interesting to see what series of events force him to switch his allegiance.
As for the Justice League, expect the following characters to return:...
