Jeffrey Scott Collins is an award winning writer, director, and producer. He just wrapped principal photography on his sophomore feature film, "Above the Line," a dark heist-comedy set in Los Angeles starring Sophia Ali, Cedric the Entertainer, Reno Wilson, Jamie Lee, Adhir Kalyan, and Gregg Henry. Jeff directed the film, co- wrote the script, and produced the film through his This Seems Reel Entertainment banner.
He is next set to direct his third feature film, which he also wrote, an elevated horror called "The Caged". The film will shoot later this year in late Fall in England. Jeff will also produce the film, alongside Ian Dawson, Gaby Whyte-Hart, and Ru Hollier.
Jeff's feature film debut, "Poor Greg Drowning", was released worldwide by Comedy Dynamics in 2020. The film screened at 26 festivals around the world, winning 13 awards including Best Picture, Best Comedy, and Best Director. Cedric the Entertainer narrated and Executive Produced the film.
Other projects include a slate of feature and TV projects that Jeff is developing through This Seems Reel. Prior to "Poor Greg Drowning", Jeff wrote, directed, and produced two thirty-minute short films, "10 Years Later" (2012) and "Let It Bleed" (2010).
Jeff began his film and TV career in finance, before transitioning into creative services at HBO. He then worked as a Director's Assistant for John Hamburg on "Why Him?", Luke Greenfield on "Let's Be Cops", and Victor Levin on "5 to 7". Jeff ran Luke's development company, WideAwake, and also did development for Hamburg's Particular Pictures. Jeff then worked in feature development at Hasbro/ Allspark Studios, and ran Film & TV for Scondo Productions.
Raised in upstate New York, Jeff graduated from Boston College, and studied film at NYU and UCLA. He currently resides in Los Angeles. He is repped by Tact Media and Sloss Eckhouse Haynes LawCo.
