Layers Screening in Burbank, CA.
Ray Roman, a native of San Diego, California, was born in 1987 with an unwavering passion for the art of filmmaking. Around the age of 10 television programs such as the WWE formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation, The Tom Green Show (1999), and Jackass (2000), inspired Ray to creatively entertain his family and friends. His journey in the world of entertainment began when he started accompanying his sister, Brittney 'Lia' Roman, both in the studio and on tour as she embarked on the Los Angeles S.E.A.P. School Tour as a promising music artist.

As Ray honed his skills, he ventured into creating captivating short-form documentaries, music videos, and DVD packages for the talented female pop-trio, Bittersweet, under the guidance of esteemed RK Records CEO, Jay Pugh aka Grand Master Jay. This experience opened doors for Ray, leading him to film behind the scenes at the renowned 2007 Calibash Concert held at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Ray's love to help create and showcase new music artist extended beyond Bittersweet. He also directed music videos for Abrina and the rock band Monkey's In Space, showcasing his commitment to collaborating with diverse artists across various genres.

In 2013, Ray joined forces with David Kano, the host of The Hollywood MMA Show, taking on roles as a producer, videographer, and editor. This partnership offered Ray remarkable opportunities to work closely with prominent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotions, including UFC, Bellator, World Series of Fighting, and the kickboxing organization, Glory. He's captured and edited both cage-side and backstage interviews with notable MMA fighters like Bas Rutten, Rashad Evans, Royce Gracie, and more.

Ray's outstanding work in the industry was recognized when he received a nomination at the first San Diego Film Awards event. In 2016, Ray reunited with David Kano to establish MMA Now TV, a dynamic platform powered by FilmOn TV Networks. This comprehensive mixed martial arts channel aimed to provide fight enthusiasts with live event coverage, compelling talk shows, exclusive interviews, captivating behind-the-scenes content, and a host of original programming. Not limiting himself to the realm of entertainment, producer Ray Roman also delved into the production of a significant documentary titled Concussed: The American Dream (2024), delving into the profound impact of concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy in sports.

Moreover, Ray is a FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot capturing stunning aerial photography of both commercial and residential real estate in Southern California, showcasing his versatility and creative flair. His work has been featured in the San Diego Business Journal.

In summary, Ray Roman's remarkable journey is characterized by his unwavering passion for filmmaking, his collaborations with talented artists, his extensive work in the world of MMA, his recognition in the film industry, and his dedication to shedding light on important societal issues. To this day he continues to create stunning visual and entertaining experiences.
