Nadia was born in New York City, lived in Haiti for five years, Spain for eight and Russia for one, and considers herself a global citizen. With a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, she studied with renowned Experimental Filmmaker, Abigail Child and Documentarian, Martha Sandlin. She just recently completed her Masters in Human Development with a concentration in Leadership in Education and Human Services from Pacific Oaks College. Nadia's lifelong passion for social justice, diversity and human rights has led her to be an active public servant and produce many award-winning PSAs including several for CHIRLA. She has produced commercials for Fortune 500 clients, and multimedia jobs for the U.S. Hispanic-Multicultural Market for over 20 years winning amongst others Palm d'Ors, Sols, Clios, Addys and Beldings. Nadia was selected for the Future Filmmaker's Workshop at Tisch School of the Arts with Carlos de Jesus as well as the Screenwriters' Workshop with Christine Choi, and started working on independent features when she was just 18 at Good Machine Inc., with Mentors, Ted Hope, Mary Jane Skalski and James Schamus. Nadia has produced several short films including "Ending Up" that won awards at festivals and her own that she directed and wrote "Behind Closed Doors." She has made numerous documentaries on homelessness, racism, broken childcare system and public education in the US. Alexei Balabanov's film "Brother" that she acted in received a Special Nomination at Cannes 1997. Nadia has also worked for TV with BBC "Conquistadors" and CNN "Newsstand" with Director Consuelo González. She is a member of Women in Films, has raised millions of dollars for APLA, ACLU, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, she is also a Board Member for the Women's Clinic in Los Angeles. She recently completed the Pasadena Triathlon benefiting children living with cancer. Nadia speaks French, Catalán, Valenciano, Creole, Russian, and is fluent in Spanish.
