From humble beginnings in Chicago, Illinois, Juan Antonio has worked with both the American and French Editions of GQ Magazine. His breakout acting role came as the lead in Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had" video, starring opposite the female icon as her husband.
Following the video's debut, Juan landed spots on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and "How to Get Away With Murder," as well as the Emmy Award Winning Show "Modern Family." Juan can also be seen in Season 3 of "Murder in the First" starring opposite Taye Diggs & Kathleen Robertson, Season 4 of BET's Hit the Floor, as well as in a series regular role as Phillip in Season 3 of FOX's hit drama, "Empire" opposite Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
He also helps lead the cast of "Sacrifice" as Series Regular for multiple seasons opposite Paula Patton.
Additionally, Juan can be seen starring in back-to-back commercials for Superbowl 49 & 50, for both Lexus and Michelob Ultra, respectively, advertisements for T-Mobile, as well as a number of independent films including "Joe Bell" starring Mark Wahlberg "Gemini" starring Zoe Kravitz. While expanding behind the camera, shooting TV commercials for Tommy Hilfiger.
In addition to his on-screen credits, Juan's credentials go far beyond what meets the eye. He has been honored to work alongside remarkable directors and photographers including Linus Sandgren, Wally Pfister, Antoine Fuqua, Dave Meyers, Steven Klein, Paul Jasmin and John Russo, to name a few. Juan is continuously writing and filming independent films to be released under his production company.
Juan earned his Masters in Theatre while studying in NYC under the legendary William Esper, formally from the Original Neighborhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner. He also recently expanded his reach overseas while training in London with Giles Foreman in association with the Drama Centre London.
Juan splits his time between Los Angeles, Miami, Paris and London.
