Nicholas Kolev is a seasoned Bulgarian-American actor whose diverse background in both physical performance and classical theater has shaped a dynamic and versatile career. Beginning his professional journey at the age of six as a circus performer in Bulgaria, Nicholas mastered gymnastics, hand balancing, juggling, and trampoline acts while touring across the United States and Canada. His early career in the circus instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and physicality, which would later inform his acting craft.
After his family retired from the circus, Nicholas relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he attended Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts. He excelled in theater, participating in numerous productions and competitive improv, most notably with the school's improv team, Operation Improvisation. After completing the Academy in just two years, Kolev pursued formal training at Southern Oregon University (SOU) in Ashland, Oregon, where he was accepted into the prestigious Theater Performance program. His time at SOU, combined with a direct internship opportunity at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, allowed him to hone his craft in classical theater and develop his skills in accent work, voice, and movement.
Nicholas's commitment to character development and script analysis, coupled with his physical agility from his circus background, has earned him recognition for his unique and naturalistic performances. He continues to refine his craft through a variety of acting techniques, constantly striving for depth and authenticity in every role. Most recently, Nicholas appeared in the limited series WACO: The Aftermath, where he worked alongside acclaimed actors Michael Shannon and Giovanni Ribisi.
