Tommy O'Reilly was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. O'Reilly attended McMaster University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Political Science, while at the same time studying acting under the tutelage of Dean Armstrong and Douglas Nyback at the world renowned Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto. After graduating he headed west to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.
O'Reilly enrolled at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California to continue his education. He earned a Masters of Fine Art degree in Film in 2013 with a focus on screenwriting. O'Reilly sold his first script Windsor Drive while still in film school. The film was released theatrically in 2015 by Indican Pictures and went on to win him critical acclaim for a first time writer. O'Reilly also starred in the film and produced it alongside Absinthe Productions.
O'Reilly's epic sci-fi trilogy The Realm earned him a nomination by the Hollywood Screenwriter Awards in 2014. O'Reilly has gone on to write many movies and TV shows which include Forever & Always, The Weak Will Parrish, The Royal Knights, Waikiki Beach, and Guys, Boys, Dudes & Bros.
O'Reilly now splits his time between Los Angeles, California and Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
