- Silviu Emilian Debu is a theatre actor and director, born on May 1, 1987, in Fagaras, Romania.
Although he acted in several short films before, his most notable collaboration has been the one with Romanian film director Adi Voicu. Their short film The Last Trip to the Seaside (2019) was selected for Semaine de la Critique in Cannes and has received the Grand Prix Award from Rio de Janeiro Short Film Festival.
Silviu Debu has graduated with a Master's degree in Acting from the National University of Theatre and Film "I.L.Caragiale" (UNATC) in Bucharest, winning the Best Actor - Stefan Iordache Award at the graduation ceremony. Debu is a part of the main troupe in two theatres; Maria Filotti Theatre in Braila and the Comedy Theatre in Bucharest (as of 2020). Some of his best theatre characters are Robert in Betrayal (Unteatru Bucharest), Austin in True West, Mr Martin in The Bald Soprano (Maria Filotti Theatre Braila) and Prince in The Unhappy Prince (The Small Theatre Bucharest). His plays are regularly selected to participate in the National Theatre Festival in Romania.
In 2018, Debu graduated as a theatre director from Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava. He has since directed plays like The Belgrade Trilogy (Lab Theatre Bratislava), Søren Kierkegaard (Studio 12 Bratislava) and Richard III (Nova Cvernovka Bratislava).- IMDb Mini Biography By: AG
