S.K.Nair (S.Krishnan Nair) was the producer of famous Malayalam films
"Chembarathy", "Chayam","Mazhakkaru". He was born and raised in
one of the famous Nair families in central travancore (in 1938), named
"Thattakkad", situated in Chettikulngara, Mavelikara. He started his own
business leaving his carrier as a commerce professor in MG
college, Tvm. Soon he became the owner of a vast business empire. He owned
so many cashew factories. He died at the age of 48 (in
1983).
He was the founder and chief editor of the famous Malayalam weekly named "malayalanadu"(in 1969),a mission to uplift Malayalam literature to a new extend. Malayalanadu weekly promoted modern Malayalam literature, supported young new writers, and evaluated their contributions through 'Sahitya Varaphalam' regularly written by Prof. M Krishnan Nair. S K Nair supported all Malayalam writers and media people.
