Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney Xd is a fun and entertaining series, and one of my favorite current animated shows. The voice cast is a mix of people from the Marvel movies and some very notable voice actors, and the creative team is full of big names from Marvel Comics. And according to this press release, there are some big things in store for young Mr. Parker in Season 2:

We've been hearing rumors for awhile that Marvel would be cancelling their awesome animated series Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Today that rumor has been confirmed; the series is gone. It's a shame that this only got two seasons, as it was one of the best animated series on TV. The news was confirmed in a press release by Marvel that also revealed the show would be replaced by another Avengers series called Marvel's Avengers Assemble.

The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes won’t be renewed for the 3rd Season. Marvel Animation will present their newly developed series Marvel’s Avengers Assemble in 2013.

The image above was released to promote the new series, which looks like it's going to fall more in line with Joss Whedon's Avengers film. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more Marvel characters introduced in the series though. We should get some more details at this year's Comic-Con.
