The benefit was that he knew how sounds should have been heard, although you can hear a difference in his music from when he could hear to when he couldn’t.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2 will feature the return of a long-gone character from The Walking Dead.

AMC announced today that The Walking Dead’s Pollyanna McIntosh has joined the cast of The Walking Dead: World Beyond’s ten-episode second season premiering October 3 at 10:00p.m. Et/9c on AMC.

McIntosh will reprise her role as Jadis” a fan favorite from the Walking Dead, which should leave fans with a lot of questions.

If you watch The Walking Dead online, you know that Jadis left the mains series alongside Rick (Andrew Lincoln).

Heck, this might mean we'll finally get some intel on what became of Rick.

Then again, the franchise might want to save those reveals for, you know, the trilogy of movies announced.

On a side note: Does anyone else feel like these movies are no longer happening?

It wouldn't surprise me if Rick returned for the series finale,...

The Walking Dead’s second spinoff, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, promised…well, a world beyond the usual Twd storytelling possibilities.

In that regard, the AMC series about four precocious youths 10 years into the zombie post-apocalypse mostly delivered. Season 1 of the show, which premiered last October after a Covid delay, picked up in Nebraska at the Campus Colony of Omaha before heading out on a cross-country adventure. In the process, the show formally introduced the Civic Republic, and its military arm (the Crm) that seems set to become a major antagonist for The Walking Dead franchise for years to come.

Just like 2020, there’s going to be a lot of the zombie apocalypse on the small screen this fall.

In a move reminiscent of last year’s Comic-Con@Home, The Walking Dead: World Beyond on Saturday unveiled the premiere date for its second and seemingly final season. The limited-series spinoff that follows the first generation raised in the post-apocalyptic world will return to AMC on October 3.

At Comic-Con@Home on Friday, Netflix unveiled a never-before-seen blooper reel for its acclaimed horror trilogy, Fear Street.

The three-parter directed by Leigh Janiak (Honeymoon) is based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror series of the same name, taking place in the years 1994, 1978 and 1666.

Part One picks up in ’94, watching as a group of teenagers discover that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected—and that they may be the next target. Parts Two and Three offer a deeper dive into the sinister history of Shayside, following the town through a nightmare 300 years in the making.

Janiak wrote the script for Part One: 1994 with Phil Graziadei. She scripted Part Two: 1978 with Zak Olkewicz. Part Three: 1666 was penned by Graziadei, Janiak and Kate Trefry.

It didn’t take long for Silas to reach critical mass. The moment another competitor for Iris’s attention came along, the danger meter slowly began to creep higher with every passing moment. The Walking Dead: World Beyond hit that point with a hammer. Iris and Percy laughing in the foreground, Silas starting daggers at them in the background. The two making plans to meet up after dark for what sounds like a make-out session? Silas lumbering in the distance, head down and ears open. Perhaps I’m just projecting the character of Abraham onto the actor, but as a director, Michael Cudlitz seems to be able to have fun with his material, no matter how dark. Throughout “Shadow Puppets,” there are a lot of fun little touches and moments to lighten things up and serve as an effective tension break during some of the more nervous moments. Towards the end of the episode, as Iris is skulking into an abandoned department store, there are two back-to-back scares, one a fake-out involving a mannequin that’s really amusing, then a legitimate one where a walker, out of nowhere, thrusts a hand out of a gated area into the middle of a scene in which Iris and Percy are talking. Ratings for the first two episodes were good enough, but the series just couldn't sustain its performance in the Nielsens, thereafter. “Rise” has been canceled at NBC after just one season.

The one-hour drama centered on a dedicated teacher, played by Josh Radnor, who takes over a flagging theatrical program at a school in a working-class city. Rosie Perez, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey W. Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumierk also starred.

“Rise” opened to a decent 1.2 rating and 5.5 million viewers in its premiere, but fell off steadily from there. The first season is averaging just a 0.9 and 4.5 million viewers in Live+Same Day.

The series was created by Jason Katims, who served as showrunner and executive producer. Jeffrey Seller, Flody Suarez and Michelle Lee also executive produce. Mike Cahill directed and executive produced the pilot. The series was produced by Universal Television, True Jack Productions and Seller Suarez Productions.

NBC has opted not to renew its high school musical drama Rise for a second season. There were high hopes for the series, from former Friday Night Lights showrunner Jason Katims and Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller, as a potential spiritual companion to This Is Us as another emotional drama.

But Rise did not have the same impact. It got off to a modest start in ratings and never took off.

Written by Katims and starring Josh Radnor, Rise was inspired by the story of groundbreaking high school drama teacher Lou Volpe as chronicled in the book Drama High. In the series, when dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli (Radnor) sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theater department, he galvanizes not only the faculty and students but the entire working-class town.

As the Sundance Film Festival’s groundbreaking and technology-facing New Frontier section kicks off its second decade in existence, the 2017 edition of the section boasts its most stacked and varied programing picks yet. The full slate includes “story worlds” in Augmented Reality headsets, projection-mapped acrobatics, a Vr beauty salon producing neuroscience data via the internet of things and a host of socialized, interactive and immersively haptic Vr story experiences.

The rest of the lineup includes live performances, a feature film and augmented reality experiences built to complement 22 Vr experiences and 11 installations, showcased between three venues in Park City. The Claim Jumper will host 10 immersive installations focused on cross-disciplinary story construction, while the Vr Palace will feature 17 Vr experiences alongside an additional installation and the Vr Bar will offer a lineup of mobile Vr. Two New Frontier projects are part of the Festival’s New Climate program, which highlights the environment and climate change.
