From his humble beginnings in a small town in North Carolina to his highly contrasted background as a first generation immigrant from Ecuador, Damian Apunte has overcome several adversities in hopes to fulfill his dream of moving to California to become a successful filmmaker.
Now based in Long Beach, California, Damian has kindled his creative passion as Director of 4th Street Productions. Throughout his film education at UNC-Asheville and Long Beach City College, he not only took on leadership roles in Film Organizations, but also managed to support himself by working full time. He has directed and produced films that have won awards at various local film festivals as well as an international festival in London. With his love for cinema and community, he's undertaken numerous influential roles both in his educational and professional careers such as: President of LBCC Filmmakers Association, nominee for Man of the Year at LBCC, Lead Film Coordinator for The Art Society of Long Beach, President of the Long Beach Film Festival, and formerly the Director of Production for the Long Beach Film Foundation.
Through his relentless work ethic and networking, he has forged connections with Film Independent, Thunder Studios, LBAFA, The Long Beach Indie Film Festival, and many industry professionals. Damian recently completed his first feature film, entitled "Scorpion 6" which is making it's way to the film festival circuit.
