You know what I love more than a Cadbury’s Whole Nut bar? A low key Brit horror that delivers an atmospheric old school feel with an up to date vibe. The kind of Brit horror that knows exactly what it wants to be and acts accordingly. It delivers on the thrills and spills, serves up a big old dollop of ‘the f***’ and most importantly keeps you bloody well entertained for its runtime.
Lair is one of those movies.
Ben (Oded Fehr) is in prison for murdering his wife and daughter; lawyer Wendy Coulson (Alexandra Gilbreath) kind of sort of believes he was possessed by a demon, maybe? Steven (Corey Johnson) in an effort to clear Ben and hopefully make some money, has...

The makers of Lair, a new London set supernatural thriller are very confident that it will be a success. So confident that they’ve already started development on a follow up, The Bone Harvest. Is that wishful thinking, or does Lair have what it takes to launch a franchise?
Ben Dollarhyde is in jail, accused of killing his wife and son. There’s no question of whether or not he did it, we saw it in the prologue. He claims that he was possessed when the killing occurred, something that’s ironic since he and his partner Steve Caramore made a living debunking the supernatural.
Seeing a chance to help his partner out, and more importantly make some money, he decorates his late father’s apartment with allegedly cursed items,...

Ben Dollarhyde (Oded Fehr) just murdered his wife and son. There’s no refuting it. He admits that his body committed the crime. His mind, however, did not. And while he knows saying that sounds crazy, he cannot stop himself from believing it and subsequently telling a colleague (Corey Johnson’s Steven Caramore) who might agree. Except Caramore has never been a believer in the supernatural despite the fact he, Dollarhyde, and Ola (Kashif O’Connor) have worked in the paranormal sphere for years. Rather than make a career out of testifying at trials and collecting cursed artifacts because demons are real, however, he’s done it precisely because nobody can prove their existence either way. It’s therefore an easy paycheck. Corroborate stories, feign expertise, and earn some “scratch” in the process.
Caramore is, however, offended by Dollarhyde’s accusation that he’s to blame for what happened. He’s...

"You brought that thing into my house!" 1091 Pictures has released the official trailer for an indie horror titled Lair, from filmmaker Adam Ethan Crow. This already premiered at FrightFest just a few months ago, and is arriving on VOD this November. A fractured family are forced to face their demons, metaphorically and literally, as they become embroiled in a man's attempt to prove the existence of a supernatural entity in order to overturn a friend's murder charge. It's described as "a new twist on the classic haunting horror formula" - this looks way freakier than it sounds written about here. The film stars Alana Wallace, Kashif O'Connor, Corey Johnson, Oded Fehr, Anya Newall, Alexandra Gilbreath, Aislinn De'ath, and Sean Buchanan. Uh yeah this looks extra spooky, with some good scares in this trailer alone. And they're still hiding plenty. This is way more than just "is there a demonic...
