Biography

Born in Connemara in the West of Ireland on May 29th 1985, Ciaran Charles got his first taste of the film industry as a child in Roger Corman's Trained for Action. He graduated from St Mary's College and went on to attend university in Edinburgh. His background is in Radiology and in 2012/2013 he studied at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles. He is a nephew of the playwright John Lynch.

Ciarán is an award-winning producer and filmmaker who cut his teeth on the French feature film The Climb (L'Ascension). His short fiction films have won awards internationally and screened at festivals all over the world. He was awarded the Puttnam Scholarship for 2019 - a unique mentoring opportunity with Oscar Winner David Puttnam.

Ciarán is a member of the Irish Film and Television Academy, European Film Academy, EAVE producer's program and Less is More with Le Groupe Ouest in Brittany.
