Four-time Official Selection winning screenplay writer and filmmaker, Sharon J Geyer was born in Bridgeport, CT. Raised on the east coast for 10 years within Beardsley Park along with three siblings, her father responsible as caretaker for many of the parks in Fairfield, County and her mother as homemaker and part-time factory worker, until moving out west to San Diego, California.
Sharon began working with her family at the tender age of 12-15 for "Family Fitness Centers" all throughout San Diego County in 1982 and attending O'Farrell SCPA that fall until graduation in 1987. During the summer at 15 years of age she had an office job, filing for the downtown San Diego Water Utilities Dept. Throughout her life her passions remain the love of art, singing, writing, photography, film. Also travel, as time and circumstance allow.
Since 2004 Sharon has spent spare time on film projects starting with a car commercial in King George, VA. She also volunteers on local film projects as well as creating her own within her production company One and Done Films and Fairly Fast LLC. Her first film was entitled "Coexisting at the Cove" made for "One Day in San Diego" on April 26, 2014 shot at La Jolla Cove addressing the controversial issue of whether humans should retain the right of enjoying Children's Pool as opposed to the Harbor Seals and Sea Lions or quite possibly finding some balance in between.
When her mother had elective surgery in 2015 and contracted pneumonia and sepsis, Sharon spent challenging moments advocating for a special treatment that went on to possibly save her mom's life and quickly removed the necessity of a kidney dialysis machine. If that challenge wasn't enough Sharon went on to solely produce "Short Circuit" a 48 Hour Film Project that year. By coincidence with one other actress Skyped into the film and the use of music by one female musician, Sharon became one of the first all-female 48 HFP filmmakers of San Diego in 2015.
Sharon's next project "Desalinate It" focused on the "drought" in San Diego and consideration of water options available if the main ones were cut-off or vastly diminished. Also, "San Diego Lives: Unsheltered" took 4 years, alongside Carmen Sifri, to create and finish. The trailer won an Official Selection in 2015 and the completed film so far has won one Official Selection in 2020. Our other film "Concoctions Inc." is in post-production.
In the mid-90s Sharon was the lead female singer of a wedding band in Connecticut. In 2018, under a pseudonym Sharon has written a book "Don't Push Your Luck" with the screenplay sharing the same title that has gone on to be recognized both in the States and abroad with two Official Selections.
