- Writer
- Sound Department
- Director
Samuel Ashton Hall's passion for storytelling was born in 1997 when, at the age of 14, he watched what he refers to as "The Big Three": Leon; Heat; and The Usual Suspects - three films that impacted his imagination and stirred within him a fire for film that burns to this day.
His first time behind a camera came when he was 17, and of all the places, it was at his local church, filming the Sunday morning services, that this opportunity arose. It was here that he honed his camera technique and eye for composition, and spent his time feverishly writing as many scripts as he could. (It must be noted that his early attempts were, in his own words, "absolutely terrible.")
After several years, and having written several scripts he was extremely happy with, he turned his attention to directing, resulting in the short film 'My Angel'. In 2019 he completed three more shorts: 'Blind Spot', 'Timing' and 'Closing'.
