Born in Rajshahi and raised in Dhaka, Mahiya Mahi made her acting debut in the movie Bhalobasar Rong (2012). Although she had no plan to build her career in movies, her acting was appreciated after her first movie and that's what kept her going. In 2013 Mahiya acted in 4 films and most of them were financially successful. Mahiya studies fashion and creative designing at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.
