Alan Barr is an award-winning American film director, screenwriter, and producer. Barr was born and raised in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. He studied Journalism at Rutgers University but got the fiction storytelling bug after graduating.
His debut feature film, Accidental Expat, tells the often forgotten story of a deported DREAMer starting his life over in Mexico City. It won best international Film at the 2023 South Texas Film Festival. The movie had its debut at the Arizona International Film Festival earlier that year.
His short films have screened all throughout New York City, including the Chelsea Film Festival and Astoria Film Festival. In 2021, his web series "Schemers," won the Princeton Tiger Award at the Nassau Film Festival.
He has written multiple screenplays that are in various stages of development and investment.
