Kwon Ji-yong
G-Dragon is the ultimate multi-talented artist who never stops inspiring people to love who they are, what they are passionate about, and who they are through his music, style, and personal philosophy. Acknowledged by numerous as the "King of K-pop, G-Dragon, real name Kwon Ji-Yong, is a multifaceted artist of the twenty-first century whose impact goes beyond the realms of music, style, and society. He is highly respected for his creative lyrics and verses and is considered a huge inspiration with the hipo hop genre in the Korean music industry. Other than his musical act, Jiyong is also considered a 'fashion icon and a huge trendsetter', further known for his broad and unique fashion sense which led him to attend multiple Chanel fashion shows alongside international well known celebrity, have the front cover of fashion magazines such as Vogue Korea, L'Uomo Vogue, Dazed Korea, and more.

Born in 1988 in the capital city of South Korea, G-Dragon was born as the youngest child as he has one older sister. IJiyong started his career early, joining the group Little Roo'Ra at the age of six. G-Dragon was shocked to learn that the group's record company had terminated their contract after the release of their Christmas album. He promised his mother he "wouldn't [try to become a singer] again," but while on a family ski vacation, SM Entertainment scouted him. For five years, from the ages of eight to thirteen, he was a trainee under the record label SM Entertainment. Before leaving, he focused on dance. Luring Sean's attention, he introduced G-Dragon to Yang Hyun Suk, the CEO of YG Entertainment, where Sean was involved with the hip-hop duo Jinusean. When G-Dragon first signed a contract with the record label, he spent the first year bringing water bottles to dance practice and cleaning the studio for the label's other artists.

His big musical break would make his debut in the year of 2006, as he rose to prominence as the leader of the South Korean boy band BigBang, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands in the world. He first gained notoriety as a solo artist in 2009 when he released his debut solo album, Heartbreaker. The album and its lead single, of the same name, were commercially successful, making it the best-selling album by a Korean soloist at the time and winning him 'Album of the Year' at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards. This was followed by a collaboration with band-mate T.O.P for the album GD & TOP in 2010. His first EP One of a Kind (2012), spawned three singles: "One of a Kind", "Crayon", and the chart-topper "That XX". The EP earned Best Album at the 2013 Seoul Music Awards. 2013 saw G-Dragon set out on his maiden global solo tour, becoming the first Korean soloist to perform in Japanese dome arenas. His 2017 EP, Kwon Ji Yong, yielded the number one single "Untitled, 2014", and the supporting concert tour Act III: M.O.T.T.E became the largest tour ever conducted by a Korean soloist. In 2023, G-Dragon officially departed YG Entertainment after 20 years of activities, signing with Galaxy Corporation under his real name.
