The Duffer Brothers, creators of Netflix’s hit “Stranger Things,” will receive the Variety Showrunner Award on the opening night of the 13th annual Scad TVfest. The festival returns in Atlanta from Feb. 5 to Feb. 7.

Stranger Things season 5 will bring the hit series to a close, revealing what becomes of Eleven and the Hawkins gang once and for all. With the Upside Down bleeding into the real world and Vecna still at large, they'll have their hands full for much of the upcoming season. Stranger Things season 5 is confirmed to be the final chapter of the Duffer Brothers' epic sci-fi horror saga, and the last volume in the story of Eleven, Will, and the town of Hawkins is beyond highly anticipated. Yeah, turns out, Millie Bobby Brown brought real tears and exhaustion to scenes that ended up becoming iconic. Take, for example, her collapsing scene in Season 3.

On Friday, Netflix announced that production of Stranger Things season five has officially wrapped. The hit series’ cast and crew returned to Atlanta on Jan. 8 to begin filming its final season, making the beloved show’s farewell an impressive 11-month shoot.

“We’ve been telling this story for nearly a decade now,” co-creator Ross Duffer wrote in an Instagram post. “Many of our cast members joined us when they were kids, just ten or eleven years old. It wasn’t just a show for them — it was a defining part of their childhood. They’ve grown up before our eyes, becoming more than actors — they’ve become family.”

Duffer added, “But it’s not just the cast we consider family. Our crew — many of whom have been with us from the very beginning — holds a special place in our hearts.
