When Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, the Disney-owned Marvel Comics gained the ability to make comic books based on the Predator franchise. They started releasing Predator comics in 2022, and in 2023 they brought us a four-issue limited series crossover between the Predator and one of their most popular characters, Wolverine. This year, we got another limited series crossover, Predator Versus Black Panther… and fans who read the fourth and final issue of that crossover (which just reached store shelves last week) saw that the next series was teased at the end: in April of 2025, we’ll be getting Predator Versus Spider-Man!
Details on the crossover are scarce at this time, but we do know that Predator Versus Spider-Man is coming from writer Benjamin Percy, who also wrote Predator Versus Wolverine and Predator Versus Black Panther, and Avengers Assemble artist Marcelo Ferreira. A variant cover by Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia can...

Following their highly successful entry to the MCU with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the duo is getting their own comic series. Last month, it was announced that writer Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara, known for their exciting work on ‘X-Force’ and ‘X Lives of Wolverine,’ will team up again this January for ‘Deadpool/Wolverine!’
The series brings Wolverine and Deadpool back together. It also reunites Logan with another familiar face from his time on Team X.
Marvel’s February 2025 previews hint at the return of Christoph Nord, also known as Maverick, a member of the CIA’s black-ops team.
A sneak peek at issue #2 reveals that a “fan-favorite villain” will make a return after a big surprise in ‘Deadpool/Wolverine’ #1.
Death By Fossil (And We Don’T Mean Logan)! Following last month’s shock reveal, Deadpool and Wolverine follow the clues from their lost mission in an attempt to save the present.

After Disney bought Fox Studios in 2019, Marvel became the new home for all Predator and Alien comics. While it hasn’t been confirmed if Marvel’s ‘Predator’ comics are part of the official Marvel Universe, they do make for some really interesting storylines.
In the four-issue ‘Predator vs. Black Panther’ series, written by Benjamin Percy with artists Chris Allen, Sean Hill, and Lee Ferguson, Wakanda’s warriors face off against a Yautja clan of alien hunters.
The Yautja are hunting for Vibranium, known as Godmetal, which is Wakanda’s most valuable resource. The clash turns Wakanda into a battleground as the Yautja search for the precious metal that King T’Challa and his ancestors have protected for centuries.
The mostly even fight finally came to an end with ‘Predator Vs. Black Panther’ #4, it wrapped up in a satisfying way while teasing a crossover with Spider-Man.

Next year, "One World Under Doom" take over the Marvel Universe. In addition to a core title spotlighting the iconic supervillain's rise to glory as Sorcerer Supreme, Doom's reign will be felt across all Marvel Comics, including various tie-in issues and series.
Among the first wave of those will be Red Hulk, a new solo comic for Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross which arrives in stores the same month Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters.
The series will be written by Benjamin Percy and drawn by Geoff Shaw, following their explosive work together on last year's "Sabretooth War" storyline in the pages of Wolverine.
Red Hulk kicks off when Doctor Doom imprisons Ross in Latveria in order to exploit his military expertise. Ross' only hope of escape is unleashing Red Hulk's strength like never before and leading an assault on Doom's Kingdom from the inside. For a taste of what's in store,...

Marvel Comics' fantasy nation of Wakanda can, much like real countries, mean different things to different people. Early Wakanda stories from the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby days of Marvel leaned on African exoticism; the Wakandans still lived in jungles and loincloths. Newer Marvel writers have flipped the fantasy; Wakanda is an African nation that was never conquered and which prospered into a superpower. It's that dream that turned 2018's "Black Panther" into a cultural (and box office) behemoth.
That's not to say no one's tried. In Black Panther's debut ("Fantastic Four" #52-53), European arms dealer Ulysses "Klaw" Klaue leads marauders to steal Wakanda's exclusive super-metal Vibranium. 2010's "Doomwar" saw Wakanda go to war with Doctor Doom's nation Latveria. The newest Wakanda invaders have another familiar face: that of the Predator. Since Marvel parent Disney merged with 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios), Marvel comics have been pitting its...

Wolverine comes roaring back with a new number one. It’s good that we didn’t have too long a wait between one series ending and the next one starting. After all, we are in his 50th year so he should have an ongoing on the shelves. Everyone who has read my reviews over the last few years will know how much I enjoyed Benjamin Percy’s time on Wolverine. But as soon as the new direction was announced I was excited for the future. I read Ahmed’s first issue of Daredevil last year and I thought he brought a good combination of tried and trusted Daredevil lore and some new ideas. In short, he brings the same to the table in this first issue of Wolverine. I have two negative takeaways from the issue, but...

In celebration of the R-rated comic book movie “Deadpool & Wolverine”, Marvel Comics will release new title “Deadpool/Wolverine”, available January 2025, written by Benjamin Percy and illustrated by Joshua Carrera:
"The film was both a hit and a hoot”, said Percy, “but we started working on this series long before we ever saw Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds tear each other apart.
"But I can say the dynamic between the characters will feel familiar to theatergoers: fun, thrilling, and both adversarial and bro-mancey...not to mention violent as hell.
“…non-stop thrills, insane action set-pieces, and a gonzo 80’s action movie precedent. We want you to feel like Stallone, Schwarzenegger, or Van Damme could be a guest star in any of these issues…”

Deadpool & Wolverine broke countless box office records earlier this year and Marvel Comics is now capitalising on that with a new Deadpool/Wolverine comic book series.
While recent months have seen the characters share the page in a few different titles, this ongoing monthly series will reunite X-Force writer Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara as Wade Wilson and Logan set off on a mission to deal with a returning X-Men villain. Oh, and new revelations about their shared past.
According to Percy, Deadpool/Wolverine isn't directly inspired by the Marvel Studios threequel and was instead in development long before that arrived in theaters.
"The film was both a hit and a hoot, but we started working on this series long before we ever saw Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds tear each other apart in a Honda Odyssey," the writer tells IGN. "So I can’t say it was an influence,...

Last week’s comic books didn’t disappoint. X-Factor No. 1 showed that it will be an entertaining series. It's unlike any of the new X-titles bringing something original. Miles Morales: Spider-Man No. 23 revealed that Miles’ venom powers keep his vampiric powers at bay. However, if he uses them too much, he could die. And, as always, Transformers No. 11 was perfect. That issue could lead to a big fight between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
This week is heavy with new DC comic books to look forward to. Let’s start with the pick of the week.
Nightwing No. 117 (pick of the week)Writer: Tom TaylorArtist: Bruno Redondo
While Batman is dressed as Nightwing in Bludhaven, Dick Grayson continues his journey to overcome his fear of heights. And, according to ComiXology, Dick learns a secret about his parent’s death. Does Deadman know something he never told Dick Grayson?

Marvel Comics has announced today that this December will see Hellverine ride again in the pages of his first-ever ongoing series. That's coming our way from writer and Hellverine co-creator Benjamin Percy and blazing-hot artist Raffaele Ienco (Star Wars: Darth Vader).
Following the character's debut in last year's Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance crossover, hellfire was passed from father to son as Logan's son Akhiro, formerly known as Daken, took over the mantle in a 4-issue Hellverine limited series.
That saga concluded this week, and now, Percy will take this hellish journey to even darker depths as Akihiro embraces his transformation and dives claws first into Marvel's superheroic landscape...as well as its demonic underworld!
Here's the official description for Hellverine #1:
It's hellfire-fueled, claw-slashing action in the Mighty Marvel Manner as Hellverine blazes a new path across the Marvel Universe! The Demon Bagra-ghul possessed Wolverine, turning him into a killing machine.

This X-Men article contains major spoilers for the Krakoa era comics.
Evolution. Mutation. Change.
These concepts have always been at the heart of the X-Men story. Even the fairly straightforward Silver Age adventures by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby made in the 1960s positioned mutants as the next stage in human evolution. Yet, rarely has the franchise made a leap as pronounced as it did in 2019, when writer Jonathan Hickman came on board to radically alter all of Marvel’s mutants with the game-changing House of X/Powers of X event books.
Five years later, with the release of X-Men #35, which is also the 700th issue of Uncanny X-Men as a whole, the Krakoa era has come to an end. The next era of X-Men books, From the Ashes, kicks off this summer and will see Marvel’s Merry Mutants returning to a world that hates and fears them. While...

We recently confirmed rumors about the development of the live-action ‘Teen Titans’ movie, with a writer already chosen for the project. Ana Nogueira, currently working on ‘Supergirl: the Woman of Tomorrow,’ has been hired to write the script. Additionally, Production Weekly revealed a few weeks ago that the movie is set to begin production this year.
This raised suspicions from the beginning, given Gunn’s preference for having a director and finished script before entering production. Since very little is known about the upcoming movie, it’s reasonable to assume that only early drafts of the story have been developed. Now, James Gunn has confirmed our fears: the movie won’t start production in 2024, and it’s likely still far from being ready to shoot.
As mentioned earlier, we have no information about the movie except for the brief synopsis provided by Production Weekly.

Recently we’ve reported on the rumors of how the live-action ‘Teen Titans’ movie is in development and those rumors were confirmed to be true with the writer already picked to write the movie.
Ana Nogueira, who is already working on ‘Supergirl: the Woman of Tomorrow’ was hired to pen the project. Then, several weeks ago Production Weekly shared that the movie will be entering production this year.
This seemed suspicious from the start considering that Gunn doesn’t like entering production without the director or finished script, and since next to nothing is known about the upcoming movie, we can assume that only rough drafts of the story have been developed so far.
Now James Gunn confirmed what we have been afraid of, the movie will not be entering production in 2024, and it’s likely that it’s a long way from shooting overall.

Wolverine #47 Writers: Benjamin Percy & Victor Lavalle | Artist: Geoff Shaw | Colourist: Alex Sinclair | Letters: Cory Petit
As the cover promises Laura takes the lead role for the majority of the issue. And all I can say is it’s about damn time! I have been waiting for her to play a part since the first issue. With the way this story arc has been structured it is effective to have this little detour with Laura in the driving seat. Remember we left the last issue with a strong cliffhanger so to suddenly veer off in this direction shows the strength and the confidence of the writing duo. On the subject of our dynamic duo, after 7 issues I finally noticed that on the cover either Percy or Lavalle’s name is first. Indicating who is the lead, in the case of #47 its Lavalle. I still think it’s more fun to guess though!

Right in time for the character's 50th anniversary, the Wolverine legend will begin anew this September. Following Krakoa's tragic fall and the brutal "Sabretooth War" storyline currently unfolding in the final issues of Benjamin Percy's run, Logan will turn his back on humanity, mutantkind, and the X-Men in an all-new ongoing Wolverine series.
The series comes our way from acclaimed writer Saladin Ahmed (Daredevil) and Marvel Stormbreaker artist Martín Cóccolo (Immortal Thor). Wolverine is one of the most lethal superheroes in the Marvel comics and movies. Known for his ferocity, healing powers that can withstand a nuclear bomb, and his indestructible adamantium skeleton, Logan is definitely a force to be reckoned with for a lot of Marvel characters.

However, the mutant had more than just a hard time when Marvel decided to create a crossover between the Wolverine and the Predator. Covered in several issues, Wolverine had it rough and almost died on several occasions. Yet one issue, in particular, was so hauntingly terrifying for the mutant that even fans were shocked to see Wolverine’s pain tolerance.

This was a lot of fun and I am not concerned to admit that my enjoyment of this really caught me off guard. I get sucked into anything with ‘Weapon X’ in the title and sometimes in the past that has burned me. But wow this was so much fun! That is high praise indeed seeing as it doesn’t really involve any alternate Wolverines I hold a soft spot for. Okay Old Man Logan is tried and tested, but I feel he has been overused. Here he is presented perfectly as like a Lethal Weapon ‘I’m too old for this shit’ Wolverine. Then we have Weapon X from Age of Apocalypse. That four-issue mini-series is a massive blind spot for me, but I am certainly tracking it down after reading this. In this story...

We’ve recently talked about the rumors of a live-action ‘Teen Titans’ movie in the works, and it’s now confirmed that a writer has been chosen for the project. Ana Nogueira, known for her work on ‘Supergirl: the Woman of Tomorrow,’ will be writing the script. According to Production Weekly, there’s some new info about the movie’s production and plot. It’s said that filming is set to start in late 2025, and here’s a brief synopsis:
The Teen Titans are further apart than ever before…until Damian Wayne recruits Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and the new Kid Flash to join him in a fight against his own grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul.
This synopsis isn’t entirely new; it’s lifted from ‘Teen Titans Vol. 1: Damian Knows Best,’ a project by writer Benjamin Percy and artists Khoi Pham, Diogenes Neves, and Jonboy Meyers, who also did the cover art.

This week I wanted to kick off talking about the cover. Modern covers tend to have a bad reputation. Perhaps there is an element of me being biased, but I love this cover by Lenil Yu! Visually it draws the eye with the dual bursts of gunfire. Secondly having Wolverine and Sabretooth side by side in their old Team X garb is going to have readers and potential readers curious. On the subject of Team X and my bias, this issue starts off strong. Wolverine? Check. Sabretooth? Check. Maverick? Check. Personally, though I would have liked more of the story dedicated to the flashback. Maybe an element where the events of the flashback inform the current goings-on. But who am I to call out Percy on how to tell a story? Really the Team X...

I am a sucker for a good old-fashioned brawl between Wolverine and Sabretooth. They are actually few and far between when compared to other great comic book rivalries. Here is hoping that this is one for the ages! Just as a bug that is affecting all X-books at the moment is the timing. Again the cover carries the ‘Fall of X’ banner and on the credits page we get a caption explaining this story takes place after X-Force #50 and before the new Powers and House of X books. I have said before how wider continuity doesn’t bother me too much when it comes to reading Wolverine, but it can just take you out of the moment every now and then. It’s a minefield when you consider ‘Sabretooth War...

Wolverine is slated to make a massive comeback this year with Hugh Jackman set to reprise the iconic role in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, on the comic book side of things, fans are already accusing Marvel of McU-fying Wolverine with the reveal of his new updated look from an upcoming comic issue.
Wolverine as depicted in Marvel Comics’ Sabretooth War storyline
Wolverine is set to get a suit of armor for the final chapters of the Sabretooth War storyline in the comics. However, the new look is reminiscent of the armored look given to Superman in DC’s New 52 reboot, while being similar to the MCU’s Iron Man suit. As a result, fans are pretty divided regarding Wolverine’s new armored look, and here is what they are saying about it on social media.

Wolverine and Spider-Man crossovers just work. Fact! I think because they are such polar opposites in terms of age and personality the chemistry just comes naturally, especially when the writer is at the top of their game, like Percy so clearly is. In a way it is Marvel’s answer to Batman and Robin, what really makes it work is that despite it being a hit every time, there aren’t that many instances of them teaming up. Well, we can now add this issue to the playlist. This very much had the feel of a throwback Marvel Team-Up issue. Two popular heroes, smashing through iconic villains in the form of Sentinels without having much continuity fat to chew through. One thing that stood out for me and made it even more enjoyable was that...

So far this series has not missed a beat. Providing action packed entertainment whilst flirting around the edges of Wolverines extensive existing continuity. I was interested to see if this issue could keep up that consistent run as it ties closely to such n important moment from Wolverine’s past; that being the Weapon X experiment. The Wednesday Warrior in me wasn’t entirely comfortable with this story weaving into the timeline of the classic story arc. We get a combined five pages bookending the Weapon X stuff and I think this goes a long way to the issue not depending on that completely. If you ignore the nagging question of when this would actually occur during the experiment and enjoy it for what it is this is very fun,...

Marvel Comics is taking fans on a thrilling new journey with their latest series, “Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance.” Written by Benjamin Percy and featuring the artistry of Danny Kim, this series marks a significant turn in the Ghost Rider mythos. The story unfolds with the iconic Spirit of Vengeance falling into unexpected hands, creating a ripple of excitement and anticipation among fans.
The series continues Percy’s highly acclaimed work and introduces Danny Kim, a fresh talent in the Marvel Universe. Kim’s skills were recently showcased in last month’s “Ghost Rider Annual #1.” Together, Percy and Kim are set to deliver an epic narrative that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
The heart of the story revolves around Johnny Blaze, the original Ghost Rider. Johnny’s journey is central to the plot as he embarks on a quest to reclaim his Ghost Rider mantle. The twist?...

How many times can I open these reviews by saying how fun a read it is? Well, as long as Percy keeps delivering at this level I will have to keep saying it. I will be the first to admit that #37 left me unconvinced both in terms of the issue overall and the general direction the arc was taking. Maybe I judged too quickly after one issue and of course, I don’t envy writers who have a good thing going on having to work around a tie-in. But the execution of this issue completely won me over on the direction the story is moving. Modern comics are populated by writers who are over-complicating things. Percy is keeping an element of fun, whilst being able to move his story along without getting bogged down. The...

Amazon MGM Studios have landed rights to Benjamin Percy’s novella “American Criminal,” with Gavin O’Connor negotiating to direct.
The film, which Hidden Pictures and NeoText will produce, follows a professional thief who, after being apprehended by an FBI agent, is coaxed into infiltrating a violent Midwestern gang with the goal of dismantling them from the inside. However, what the FBI agent doesn’t know is that the thief is also orchestrating the largest – and last – heist of his life.
O’Connor has directed a number of popular and critically acclaimed works, including “Warrior” with Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy, “The Accountant” with Ben Affleck, “Miracle” with Kurt Russell, and “Tumbleweeds,” which featured an Oscar-nominated turn from Janet McTeer. He most recently retimed with Affleck on 2020’s “The Way Back,” the story of an alcoholic basketball coach.

I really don’t want to come down too harshly on this series. On a personal level, it just wasn’t for me, but there clearly is an audience for the character. Before I get into what is good and bad about these two final issues I want to reiterate my two biggest grievances with this series. I have mentioned it in every review of every issue so far, but why couldn’t we get an X-23 mini in the current Krakoan Era? To me, it just makes so much more sense. I only found out the other day that she is now going by Talon in the X-Books! She has been part of X-Men since this era launched so a Fall of X tie-in would have been perfect. All of the stuff...

Unfortunately I am having some trouble with this story, which is a shame because I really love the character. I think a big part that is working against it, especially from my own point of view is the retroactive angle to the story. Without repeating myself from last month, in a nutshell, a lack of consequences detracts from delivering a good story. There has been a spate of retroactive storytelling from Marvel in the last few years, some has worked and some hasn’t. I think a lot of it can come down to the popularity and back catalogue of any given character to decide the levels of success a retroactive story can have. Even though I said I love the character I have to admit my knowledge of her early comics are sketchy at best.

Wolverine #32 Writer: Benamin Percy | Artist: Juan Jose Ryp | Colourist: Frank D’Armata | Letters: Cory Petit
Are we going to have to start calling this series Beast Goes Full Evil? At this point I think Benjamin Percy is the only writer I would trust to have a comic called Wolverine completely dominated by Beast and his continuing journey to the dark side. It has been going on for three issues now and it works. Beast is the center of attention in this book right now and Percy is killing it! Not to completely scare fans off, Wolverine does make a fleeting appearance in this issue in true Wolverine fashion. Barging in on the Quiet Council and telling them exactly what is what and how he is going to put things right. Though out reading this issue I did keep asking myself how and if this ties into ‘Fall of X’ or...

Let’s just get it all out in the open right away. Despite this issue having a new title it is really still carrying on the same story arc. After my mixed reaction to the previous 2/3 issues, Percy manages to make it all feel fresh again. So how does he do it? The simple answer… everything just seems to click. But we aren’t here for the simple answer! Now a lot of this review will seem like I am talking about Beast. Every hero needs a great villain and Beast is certainly becoming that. I have longed hailed Percy as the king of pacing and once again he shows us why. The flow of the story is narrated by Beast as his plan comes more into the light. It plays out in a way...

Murderworld: Wolverine #1 Writers: Jim Zub & Ray Fawkes | Artist: Carlos Nieto | Inker: Victor Nava | Colourist: Matt Milla | Letters: Cory Petit
I hardly ever regret buying a comic, but this was one of those times. I think what made it feel worse was the fact I missed the original release date, and then had my Lcs backorder me a copy. How Marvel can market this firstly as an #1 and secondly as a Wolverine comic is beyond me. It represents everything that is wrong with mainstream comics right now. The Wolverine solo series has been pretty much faultless since its return, so obviously with this Murderworld series, it’s a classic case of using popular characters to push another series. And I fell for it hook, line and sinker. The cover drew me in straight away with its variations of Wolverine through the years. Yes, I am an easy mark! But that is...

Fremantle has deepened its relationship with Artists, Writers & Artisans, Inc. (Awa) by making a minority investment in the company.
Fremantle had struck a strategic development deal with Awa Studios, the film and television division of Awa, last year.
Awa is backed by James Murdoch’s Lupa Systems, Sister, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. In 2021, the company established Awa Studios, helmed by Hollywood veteran Zach Studin as president. Marvel alum Axel Alonso serves as co-founder and chief creative officer overseeing editorial output. Matthew Anderson, co-chair and president and Jon Miller, co-founder and co-chair, lead Awa’s executive team.
The two companies have revealed that the first project on the joint development slate after Fremantle taking a stake in Awa is “Devil’s Highway,” a thriller based on the comic series by Benjamin Percy and Brent Schoonover in which a young woman seeks to unravel a sinister mystery hidden in the dark underbelly of the long-haul trucking industry.
