Former UFC champion and WWE star Ronda Rousey is going from the mats to the writers’ room for an adaptation of her memoirs on Netflix. According to Deadline, Rousey is grappling with screenwriting to create a biopic based on her books, My Fight/Your Fight and Our Fight, which she co-wrote with her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz. Chernin Entertainment could produce, but details about their pact with Netflix remain in limbo.

Initially, Paramount was going to enter the Octagon with Rousey after snagging the rights to her first book, but after the studio played musical chairs with high-ranking positions, the rights lapsed, and Netflix pinned them down. Rousey’s books delve deeper into her personal and professional journey, detailing her struggle with suicidal ideation after her first loss to Holly Holm and raising awareness about the concussions she’d suffered before her Mma career. The text also investigates her complicated relationship with coach Edmond Tarverdyan.

Exclusive: Having found success on so many fronts throughout her career, former UFC champion and WWE star Ronda Rousey has now found a new challenge to tackle and that is the role of screenwriter. Sources tell Deadline that Rousey has closed a deal to adapt the script for her own biopic at Netflix. It would be based on both her memoirs, My Fight/Your Fight and Our Fight, which she co-wrote with her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz. While their deal isn’t closed, sources say Chernin Entertainment is expected to produce.

Netflix declined to comment.

The project was originally set up at Paramount in 2015 when the studio acquired the rights to her first memoir My Fight/Your Fight. Following a handful of regime changes at the studio, the rights would eventually lapse with Netflix ultimately jumping on them after Netflix exec — and long Rousey fan — Michelle Evans championed the project.

While Paul is celebrated as one of the promising wrestlers in the company, Ronda Rousey has slammed WWE for giving the YouTuber special treatment. However, fans sided with Paul, whom they acknowledged as a greater WWE wrestler than Rousey.

Bride-to-be Ronda Rousey is planning a laid-back fiesta in the Aloha State.

The 30-year-old revealed some details of her wedding plans with fiancé Travis Browne during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan Wednesday, saying that the ceremony and reception will be inspired by – and set in – the Ufc fighter’s home state.

In a stunning victory, the women’s bantamweight championship belt remains with Nunes. On Friday, the 28-year-old Brazilian, nicknamed “the Lioness,” proved she’s a force to be reckoned with after defending her belt against the once long-reigning champion in an intense fight.

Prior to the weigh-in, Rousey shared an impressive before and after glance at what she looked like ahead of her February 2015 fight with Cat Zingano and what she looks like now. The side by side shows an astonishing improvement in definition for a body that was already in peak condition.
