Hunter Ray Barker (born May 17, 1993), is an American stunt performer, small business promoter, and documentary film director. He is known for creating marketing stunts and events to help raise awareness for local businesses.
Barker is the President of the Stunt Players Directory, an advertising directory for stunt performers in the entertainment industry. He also works a professional stunt driver, being credited as the Transit Bus Driver in the Showtime TV series Dexter.
In August 2018, Barker hosted "The Great American Mud Wrestle," a mud wrestling event featuring celebrity impersonators, horror movie actors, Tropicana mud wrestlers, female body builders, and Hollywood street performers.
In September 2019, Barker premiered the documentary short film "Bunny," at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. The film was dedicated to Sandie Crisp, better known by her stage name "The Goddess Bunny." Sandie was an American entertainer, drag queen, actor, and model who battled the infectious polio disease. Barker also worked as her campaign manager when she ran for Mayor of Inglewood, California. She also considered him one of her "children."
The film was a nominee for Best LGBTIQ+ film at the International Shorts Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia.
In February 2021, Crisp passed away due to Covid-19. Barker created a crowdfunding campaign to fulfill her wish of being buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Barker has directed a series of three more documentary short films, featuring other entertainers, as a tribute to Crisp. These films include the 2020 documentary short "OG Black the Snake Man," which features the story of Snake Man, a man who entertains pedestrians with a pet python named Butterfly; the 2020 documentary short "Stitch Face" which features the story of Michael Keyser, a scare actor and recipient of the Andrew Carnegie Hero Medal for acts of extraordinary heroism who passed away a week after the filming; and the 2020 documentary short "Taz the Toy Maker" which features the story of Taz, a toymaker who has created over 300 original action figures.
In 2020, When the stunt and film industry had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, he co-founded Bullfrog Creative Agency, a marketing agency that creates stunts to promote local businesses.
In March 2021, Barker spent 24 hours in a tub of bean dip to support Los Toros Mexican Restaurant in Chatsworth, California. The viral stunt was featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show where Barker was awarded $1,000 for the stunt.
He also got a tattoo of the restaurant's logo while sitting in the bean dip.
