Anusree Nair, widely recognized by her mononymous stage name Anusree, is a highly acclaimed Indian actress, primarily active in the Malayalam film industry. Born in Kerala to Muraleedharan Pillai, a dedicated clerk at the Kerala Water Authority, and Shobhana, a nurturing housewife, Anusree's roots lie in Kamukumchery, Kollam district. Her upbringing included the presence of an elder brother named Anoop.

Anusree's journey into the world of cinema commenced with her impressive debut in the 2012 film "Diamond Necklace," directed by Lal Jose. Notably, she caught the attention of the director while participating in the acting reality show "Vivel Active Fair Big Break" on Surya TV. Lal Jose's recognition led to her portrayal of Kalamandalam Rajasree in the aforementioned film, marking the beginning of her illustrious career.

The actress went on to showcase her versatility by essaying pivotal roles in various Malayalam films, including "Left Right Left" (2013), "Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum" (2013), and "Angry Babies in Love" (2014). Anusree continued to carve her niche with lead roles in films like "Ithihasa" (2014) and "My Life Partner" (2014), earning acclaim for her performances.

Her outstanding portrayal of Sushama in "Chandrettan Evideya" (2015) earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In 2016, Anusree featured in notable films like Dileesh Pothan's "Maheshinte Prathikaaram" and Priyadarshan's "Oppam," where she portrayed the character of Police ACP Ganga.

Despite facing health challenges, Anusree was initially cast in the female lead role opposite Mohanlal in "Pulimurugan" (2016) but had to withdraw from the project due to her condition. She later collaborated with Mohanlal in Priyadarshan's "Oppam" (2016).

The actress continued her impressive filmography with roles in movies such as "Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho" (2016), "Oru Cinemakkaran" (2017), "Aadhi" (2018), and "Panchavarnathatha" (2018).
