- Bob is the father of Bob Brill (IMDB), noted photographer and Director of Photography on the film "Bunny Whipped.".
- Bob's most widely known moment as a broadcaster was also nearly fatal. Bob was filing a radio report from Florence & Normandie during the early hours of the 1992 Los Angeles riots as Reginald Denny was being attacked when Bob was also attacked and beaten. The iconic audio of the attack has been heard world wide and is often called one of the most memorable moments of radio sound.
- As a National Correspondent for the UPI Radio Network, Bob covered the Western White House during the Reagan years and traveled with the president's press corps on several occasions.
- Bob is of Italian-American heritage and has a dream of scripting his families story from central Italy to Pittsburgh and to California from 1890-present day. He's always said he'd love to do the Italian part in Italian with G. Tornatore directing while having the USA part in English by either FF Coppola or M. Scorsese. He met Tornatore years earlier doing an in studio interview at UPI Radio and the two hit it off famously.
- Bob's first interview of a star was in 1972 when he interviewed country singer Wynn Stewart live on the air at KNOT Radio in Prescott, AZ. He admitted to Stewart that he knew nothing about him but the singer was gracious enough to walk him through it and laugh along the way with the 18 year old disc jockey.
- One of the highlights of Bob's life was to take his hero, Bill Mazeroski, out for drinks with Bob's two sons. He had interviewed Maz several years earlier on the phone for an article and the personal meeting was icing on the cake.
