From a French-Spanish family, SOPHIE-VENECIA REYES is a Producer - Director - Writer - Actress and Fashion Designer.
Sophie Venecia Reyes is an international award winning. In her last film NO NOS CALLARÁN!(WE WON'T BE SILENCED!), she writes, plays in, directs, edits and produces her movie. The film received the Special Jury Remi Winner Award at the 54e Worldfest - Houston International Film Festival and several festival selections.
With a strong desire to participate in meaningful projects - She is getting ready to direct her first feature film.
Sophie is committed to create meaningful projects in order to develop A POSITIVELY COMMITTED SUPPORTIVE CINEMA working hand in hand with foundations. A former gymnast, driven by her sporty character, Sophie-Venecia likes meet new challenges! She created a French production company INSIDE US FILMS to develop her cinema. She believes that CINEMA, CREATIVITY and CHARITIES are the best support to inspire major changes.
Previously, she worked as a co-producer and business affairs at Cinefeelprod a french production company dedicated to feature films and documentaries such as PHOTO DE FAMILLE by Cecilia Rouaud - LES CONFINS DU MONDE by Guillaume Nicloux - L'EXTRAORDINAIRE VOYAGE DU FAKIR by Ken Scott - FUNAN by Denis Do - LES GARDIENNES by Xavier Beauvois - VISAGES VILLAGES by Agnès Varda & JR.
No boundaries in her producer work and director work. It's with the short film, October 9th presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016 (short film corner), she starts to develop a supportive cinema by associating particular charities actions to her movies with Innocence in Danger & Action Enfance.
In 2021, she was selected to follow a Mentoring program (Producer - Director - Actress) with the 50/50 Collective, which works for gender equality in the audiovisual sector.
Seft-taught, passionate woman, Sophie is an artist to her core. Her endless desire to learn constantly evolving, and her sense of text and words, allows her to open up to new horizons. Supporting by her mentor Peter Macdonald, English producer and well-known director second unit (Harry potter films, Guardians of the galaxy, Wolverine...), she writes scripts including two feature films inspired by trues stories and one environmental science-fiction.
Having started her professional career in 2007, in the fashion industry, she created a fashion brand called Sophie Reyes. She is an international award winning and won 4 awards. Like the skin of an actor is manifold, she pushes up the game to shine in various fields. At the same time, she trained as an actress with American coach Jack Waltzer, a lifetime member of Actors Studio, and decided to complete her knowledge learned in the field by training in editing and camera at the school of the image of the Gobelins in Paris. In addition, she trained as a screenwriter with Vincent Ravalec at the Cinemagis school. To understand more the complexity of Filming, she was testing several technical jobs in short-films.
