Film Bridge International has added Sidhartha Mallya (“Mafia Wars”) to the cast of “Thrill Ride,” with production scheduled to commence in the U.K. during the first quarter of 2025.
The thriller, helmed by Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura from a script by Chad Law (“Lights Out”) and Christopher Jolley (“Granny Krampus”), follows a group of passengers trapped upside down on a roller coaster when a mysterious saboteur threatens to drop them to their deaths one by one. Mallya steps into the role of Trey.
During the American Film Market, Film Bridge International landed several distribution deals, with Volga Films taking Cis and Benelux territories, and Falcon Films securing the Middle East. Signature acquired U.K. rights during the Cannes Film Market. Additional territory sales are pending announcement.
Mallya, who recently appeared alongside Tom Welling and Cam Gigandet in “Mafia Wars,” is represented by Untitled Entertainment and Carey Dodd Associates in the U.

Mafia Wars is an action thriller that loses momentum in the third act, which really drags the entire thriller aspect through the mud. Starring Tom Welling, who previously starred as Clark Kent in the popular series Smallville, Mafia Wars is a very different role. While he may add a certain level of star quality, it is not enough to redeem the rest of the movie from an underdeveloped script, poor pacing, and a supporting cast that was, by and large, mediocre.

In the film, which will begin shooting in Rome in April, Terry (Welling) is released early from prison only to be forced to go undercover to take down the Cosa Nostra in Italy. On his first day, his fellow six-man undercover unit is taken out. Terry must then ride shotgun all day with a psychopath killer who may know he is working for the police.
Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Sidhartha Mallya (Brahman Naman), Cher Cosenza (Death in Texas), Al Linea (The Irishman) and Alessia Alciati will also star, with Emanuele Moretti producing for The Motus Studios.
“I really lucked out to get to work with such a great actor like Tom. I think he is really going to open a lot of eyes with his role,” said Windhauser.

After watching Brahman Naman, the latest film from the Indian director known simply as Q, I had the opportunity to sit down with him along with the writer, Naman Ramachandran and three of the actors from the film; Sid Mallya, Shashank Arora, and Tanmay Dhanania. I enjoyed my conversation with the filmmakers just as much as I enjoyed the film itself. Alex Koehne: One of the movies you are most well-known for is Gandu, which was considered controversial due in part to its use of nudity and sexual situations. Instead of shying away from this, you open up Brahman Naman with the main character masturbating into a refrigerator. Q: Why beat around the bush? I hope that pun was intended. Q: Let's say it was....

Qaushiq Mukherjee blends English literature and bovine sex jokes in 1980s-set film that departs from American high school comedy formula
Forget the jocks who spend their time dead-lifting and perfecting their wedgie techniques. It’s the Shakespeare-loving horny geeks we all need to watch out for. That’s the message from Qaushiq Mukherjee’s (aka Q) coming of age comedy set in 1980s Bangalore, with a focus on the love lives (or lack thereof) of a group of sex-starved “quizzers”.
Well, sex-starved might be taking it a bit far. Head geek Naman (played by Shashank Arora) does manage to fornicate … with a fridge door and a fish tank (really). But just as in Us teen comedies such as Porky’s and American Pie, he’s got his eyes set on something more unattainable. And as in those movies, there is a bully – in this case the suave cricket star Ronnie (Sid Mallya).

The Sundance Film institute has released the line-up of film for the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. Going to Sundance is one of my favorite events of the year. I love going because you never know what kind of movies you're going to see. Sometimes they are great films that amaze and entertain, other times they completely suck ass, but that's all part of the fun of going to the festival. It's an awesome experience for any hardcore movie geek, and if you ever get a chance to go, you need to.
The event takes place in Park City, Utah next year from January 21st to the 31st. It looks like there's a great line-up of movies at next year's event. My favorite portion of the event is the Midnight section because it deals more with geeky genre type movies, but I also enjoy the various sections of other line-ups.

Getting aligned with the character of his second film Homecoming, Sid Mallya has left no stone unturned to ensure his look is completely authentic. He’s been growing a beard as part of his look for the film.
An insider source reveals, “Sid has been posting a number of images of him in the beard via his social media platforms. It’s the first time he’s had such a thick and prominent beard. This beard look was leaving people wondering how the chiseled jaw, clean shaven lad had decided to go so extreme and rugged. But the real reason is finally out. He’s been in Portland shooting for the film and will conclude his first schedule soon.”

Speculations have been on about Sid Mallya’s Hollywood ventures but now it seems like there is some solid development on his acting debut.
Looks like Sid Mallya is all set to finally make his silver screen debut, having landed himself his debut film – an international production that shows off Sid’s true blue Brit side. Directed by Calcutta based Q, produced by Steve Barron (who’s other comedies include Dan Akroyd’s Coneheads and Mike Bassett: England Manager), the film story is centered on the quizzers scene in the early 80s in India. It is a smart and witty teen comedy. Director Q has created quite a stir in the indie film circuit with festival hits like Tasher Desh and Gandu.
