- Brendan Lyle graduated with a BA in Film Production at The University for the Creative Arts and an MA in Screen Acting at The Royal School of Speech and Drama.
As a screen actor, he has appeared and been involved in numerous short films including 'Birthcloud' (2015), which won four awards at the Monaco Film Festival, including Best Ensemble Cast and 'Fan Girl' (2015) which was shortlisted for the LOCO Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Short and Best Director for Kate Herron ('Loki', 'Sex Education').
Brendan had a role in Henrietta & Jessica Ashworth's ('Killing Eve', 'Tell It To The Bees', 'Firebrand') horror short film 'Night Bus' (2021) starring Susan Wokoma, which debuted at the Pia Pressure Short Film Celebration showcasing emerging female directors.
In 2017, he was the lead in the Thalys 'Scents of the City' advertising campaign which was shown throughout European cinemas and was shortlisted at the Cannes Lions Festival. In 2022, he was cast in the Three Mobile commercial campaign 'Gravlax', shown on UK television, cinema and online.
On stage, Lyle has portrayed Ebenezer Scrooge in the critically acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre 2016 production of 'A Christmas Carol' and in 2018, starred in 'Shirley; Or The Inexplicable Question Of God's Actions', a comedy which debuted with a five show run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In a showcase of new plays, Brendan starred in 'Exit Pursued by A Bear', at Shakespeare's Globe theatre in late 2023.
He has written and directed a number of fiction, documentary and experimental short films during his time at university and beyond, including the award winning 'Sam & Isobel' (2014).

- During the sixth series of Celebrity Big Brother (2001), Lyle was in the studio audience of an episode of Celebrity Big Brother's Big Mouth (2005) hosted by Jack Whitehall and was asked an impromptu question about the contestant Ben Adams from the British-Norwegian boy group A1.
