Laura was born in Mexico City. She graduated from Communication studies from the Anahuac University in 2013. Matilde, her first short film, participated in the 4th 48-Hour Collegiate Production Rally in the Guanajuato International Film Festival, winning the Audience Award, Best Production and Best Performances from Tara Parra and Jorge Levy.
Her thesis short film, Hello, stranger, got her the Jury Award at the Kontrast Film Festival in Germany.
