Rowan Cloete is an awarded post-production specialist, who has worked across all phases of production in a career spanning more than two decades. He is passionate about contributing to and putting as much production value as possible before the viewer.
He is co-owner and co-director of Long Island Moving Pictures - a 51% black female owned company - where he works with multiple national and international production houses as editor, compositor, motion designer, VFX artist and colour artist.
He is a member of the South African Guild of Editors and has been awarded the right by the guild to use the SAGE acronym alongside his name in honour of his contribution to the industry. He was the first colourist in South Africa to be awarded the acronym.
He previously sat on the SAFTA (South African Film and Television Awards) judging panel for the technical categories (editing, cinematography, composition, and score).
His focus is employing cutting edge technology and techniques to enhance storytelling, and to offer opportunities and solutions to his clients and collaborators that will support and enhance their creative vision.
His wide and varied experience in broadcasting and film has given him an extensive technical and artistic vocabulary and attitude that makes engaging with him as colourist and online editor incredibly valuable for his clients. The fact that he makes it a fun, easy and friendly process means he's liked for more than just the brilliant work he produces.
