Rajashree is a National Award-winning filmmaker and a bestselling novelist. She has written six commissioned series - a thriller (for Sudhir Mishra), a romantic comedy (for JioCinema), a sports drama (for Bootroom/ Friday Filmworks), a legal thriller (for Ratnaa Sinha), a literary adaptation (for Anurag Basu), and a historical. She started off by assisting Sudhir Mishra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali after studying direction at the Film and Television Institute of India, Poona. A film she wrote and directed, The Rebel, won the National Award and was shown at many film festivals. She has written and directed many short films and ads for social media. She's worked as a producer on shows like Indian Idol and directed shows for television. She's independently produced and mentored more than 25 short films. She's worked on the screenplay of a Tagore story, Maan Bhanjan, which was directed by Anurag Basu and is streaming on Netflix. She's served as the Convenor of the Events Committee at the Screenwriters Association. She's also worked on the theatrical release of two low-budget feature films, and the experience in marketing and public relations helped her to promote her novel proactively.

Rajashree's novels were officially selected for the Word to Screen Market at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and the Books to Box Office at the Film Bazaar in IFFI, Goa. Her debut novel, Trust Me, a lighthearted romantic comedy set in the Bombay film industry, has topped bestseller lists. It is one of the biggest-selling Indian chick -lit novels according to figures given in The Times of India and The Sunday Telegraph - it's probably sold more copies than any other Indian chick -lit novel. The first edition sold out in less than a month and the book is so successful that the twenty-first edition is in the pipeline. It's also been published in French. It's done well in France and a paperback edition has come out after the hardcover. She is represented abroad by Isabel Atherton of Creative Authors Limited, a literary agency based in New York and London
