- Actress
- Director
Rachel McVay is an American actor rooted in UK training. Classically trained, with an MFA from the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and a BFA in Theatre & Dance, Rachel also studied with the RSC and RADA. She has made her mark as a dynamic Shakespearean/Chekhovian actor, often employing her skills in stunts, stage combat, and dance.
With an affinity for Shakespeare, Tarantino, and Ryan Murphy, Rachel's proudest roles include the "fierce" Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, the "magnificent" & "regal" Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing ("McVay stands out as Beatrice"), and the lead in Broken Nails, a film in which she plays a boxer/dancer who struggles with self love in overcoming cancer.
Rachel tends to lean toward projects lending the opportunity to work with visionary collaborators in work that is meaningful, thought-provoking, and, at times, subversive.
